So they convert to 3D to get the extra revenue bump from the IMax theaters. Everyone copying Avatar. DD
Visited the Wizarding World of Harry Potter this last week at Universal Studios Orlando....absolutely incredible.
actually the 2 part was planned for a long time now so it can stay as true as possible to the book's content and make more money no way they could have kept everything from the last book in a 2-2.5 hour movie and for the record the last Harry Potter film was also done in 3D and IMAX before Avatar was released
man, who would want to watch the first part? it's just a big time teaser.... that's not a good idea. I'll just wait until it's complete.
Holy Schizznit!!! Been waiting a while for this! This movie just gets darker and darker. I don't mind the 2 parts... it'll probably be just as awesome as the previous episodes. I can't wait till the complete DVD collector's edition comes out in a few years.
First off...this was all about my 10 year old son. We were going to Disney anyway, and this was a happy coincidence that it was opening the week before we got there. He's read every book of the series more times than I can count....he finishes the series and starts over again. If I had to guess, I'd say he's gone through each book somewhere between 7-10 times. The feature attraction is a ride in Hogwart's. You walk through the castle, and the theming is just amazing. Pictures talking to one another in the gallery....the characters appearing in front of you talking about what you're going to experience and welcoming you to the school. Tons of detail. A lot of fun...and then the ride is incredible. Butterbeer at the restaurant/bar. Olivander's has a really unique setup....you buy a wand...but the wand essentially chooses you. They pull wands out of boxes that are dusty and look old. Again...attention to detail is incredible. They have a post office called the Owlery. There are two different roller coasters, one a kiddie one based on the hippograph (am i saying that right?? -- i'm not the one who read the books 10 times!! ) and then one that is made to look like dragons. When you step into Hogsmeade (the entire Harry Potter area) you are absolutely in the movies/books. It's really great. We had a blast. If you and/or your kids are into Harry Potter at all, you'll love it.
With only a few minor complaints...the last two Harry Potter's have really ratcheted up the intensity, darkness and maturity and continue to be amazing. Wouldn't expect anything different here. Cannot wait.
Has the potential to be the best movie/movies. I really enjoyed the book, but have been disappointed by most of the movies.
That's why I never read the book. The movie is amazing. Besides from my personal experience, books and movie is totally different (in story line, ending, etc). Anything in the movie that's different from what you imagined when reading the book would make the movie suck
