The film tells the story of a team of heroes gathered during the Cold War to fight a supervillain whose march on Moscow is unstoppable — namely because the bad guy has been able to disable all machinery (rendering the military useless). The team of heroes is called the Guardians, and they each represent different nationalities of the Soviet Union, with the team putting aside their differences for the greater good. The film, which is set for a 2017 release, is directed by Sarik Andreasyan and comes from Russian production company Turbo Films. It already has a sequel in the works.
