Don't know too much about this one (except that it was being made); I never read the books, or even heard of them for that matter, but it has a LOTR vibe and looks darker and more epic than say Chronicles of Narnia, which started off well enough but got worse as the film progressed. Definitely looking forward to this now. http://movies.aol.com/movie-trailer-clip/eragon-ed-speleers-jeremy-irons
i remember hearing about the book and its very young author i was hoping to read it but it was only hardback at the time and then i just plum forgot. i dont recall it being mentioned again as a great book though, i just remember it was given hype because of the boy (was he like 15 or 16) who wrote it dont have time to read it now, if the movie trailer is decent i probably see it
I have a friend who has recommended the books to me a couple of times, I have to say that I am a bit surprised that they are already making a movie out of it. Its basically about a human who rides a dragon. The dragons and their riders form a "bond" but usually the riders are elves. I dunno if the book is really up to snuff with LOTR or TCON, but it seems lately that anything thats fantasy or and has dragons atleast has a shot. Peter Jackson wants to work on this movie: http://uk.news.yahoo.com/12092006/325/lord-fantasy-jackson-hatches-dragon-fable.html
