I'm a sucker for zombie movies...even so, this has potential to actually be a good movie. <object width="425" height="355"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/IEjzowKYy2c&rel=1"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/IEjzowKYy2c&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>
I remember reading a review about this when it was shown at some festival last year. Kind of funny how there are 2 movies applying the Blair Witch style to different genres.
This is like an extension of the part shown over the end credits following the most recent Dawn of the Dead movie. The concept of using video recording to show this...I wonder if the idea stems from that.
Zombies are no longer cool. Simpsons did it. Everyone and their mom did it. Give it 50 years off and revisit it.
**** no. The more zombie movies the better. I'm actually anticipating this movie even though I didn't like Romero's last zombie romp.
IMO, "Days" is a better film but "Weeks" is not to far behind. I actually thought "Weeks" was more entertaining.
Except the oversaturation is from the lame nu-zombies. The only proper Romero zombies that have been seen lately were in Land and Shaun of the Dead. /comicbookguy Also looking forward to World War Z. That was such a kick ass book, but with so many stories it probably would require a mini-series to really do it justice.
I read that book a few months ago and found it to be quite good. It takes a look at zombies on a global scale and how people pull together to 'beat' the zombies in the end. Another great zombie read is The Walking Dead, a black and white comic by Robert Kirkman. It's the only comic I read on a monthly basis. Awesome writing and zombies in the Romero style.
Thats a good way of looking at it. Weeks kind of amps everything up from Days but in terms of filmmaking, Days is a better film
