Official Site Trailer No direct link. Looks bad ass. A CGI film that looks....well, it looks like a video game. A really awesome video game. Director: Robert Zemeckis Cast: Ray Winstone Anthony Hopkins Angelina Jolie Robin Wright-Penn John Malkovich I'm stoked. Discuss.
There's also a videogame coming out based on the Beowulf movie. http://games.ign.com/articles/698/698858p1.html
wasnt that movie with antonio banderas (sp?) loosely based on beowulf? kinda of a cool movie i thought. but it is surprising that this hasnt been made a movie yet.
Yeah, I saw that. Too bad I'm routinely disappointed in video game adaptations of movies. Maybe this one'll be good, but I'm not holding my breath.
Meaning what, exactly? The movie as a whole? Its CGI-photo-realism or whatever its called? (Actually, what is that called??) Hell, with this director and cast, I'd be interested in seeing it if it was filmed with stop-motion pop-sickle stick-figures.
There's another Beowulf movie from 2005 called "Beowulf & Grendal with Gereard Butler from 300 as Beowulf: <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/TGlSAtb-SDw"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/TGlSAtb-SDw" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> Edit- apparantely this one came out in 2005. I missed it then.
I misread and thought you were saying the title was "Beowulf & Grendal with Gereard Butler from 300 as Beowulf" sounded more like a spoof that way.
the movie looks pretty sweet but probably not as good as a bj from jolie. i'll even take the cgi version.
The new Beowulf movie is supposedly using the CGI technology that was in Polar Express (which was amazing) - and they've beefed it up a bunch. One of the biggest complaints about polar express was that the characters' eyes were doll-like and made the show creepy. Supposedly, they've put a LOT of work into that and the eyes are a million times better. There's a possibility that we'll be blown away by the CGI in Beowulf.
