I am going on the assumption that the Rockets Pick up Ming and Nachbar.

That give the Rockets a surplus at Centers and Forwards.

Essentially we have Taylor, Thomas, Griffin, Rice, Nachbar, and Morris. Also, that gives us Cato, Ming, and Collier.

Griffin earned minutes last year, so it is my opinion that he has to play a good 25 minutes a game next season. Thomas earned himself a starting position last year. Taylor was a solid starter for the Rockets the year before. I think it would be unfair for any one of these players not to play at least 25 minutes a game next season. Unless, Griffin becomes our backup at the SF, I don't see how the minutes can add up. And Taylor doesn't like to play center.

I think that if any forward gets moved it must be Thomas and Morris. But who can the Rockets get that they need.

    Cato--------Ming---------Collier
    Taylor------Griffin
    Rice---------Nachdar
    Mobley-----(Francis)----Torres
    Francis-----Norris

Honestly, I think the only position that needs upgrading in the rebuilding process is SF. Who can we get that could start at SF for Thomas, Collier, and Morris? Or Taylor, Collier, and Morris? Can Odom be gotten if the Rockets were to add Rice?

    Team of the future?
    Ming-----Cato
    Griffin----Thomas
    Odom----Nachbar
    Mobley---(francis)
    Francis---Norris

Could this team beat the Lakers? Would this be the best team the Rockets ever put together? How long would we have to wait to see this team mature? A lot of question, but who has answers other than Father Time?

I don't think it is possible to pick up both Ming and Odom. And Kenny Thomas needs to go. He is not our future small forward.

But ROCKET!!! said that Thomas will not be moved (for reason he can't discuss)

So it's unlikley that Thomas would be moved, under those situations.

The thing about Odom is that he is going to be a free agent next year. So, the Clippers may rather get something than to just let the guy walk. Thomas, Morris, Collier or Cato, and the #15 pick. That is a lot of talent.

The return of Glen Rice and Mo Taylor, and the acquisitions of Ming
Nachabar, and possibly Miles Simon should completely reroute the direction of the team. I dont think there needs to be anymore acquisitons this year. One move Id like to see made ... If Mo Taylor impresses during summer workouts, then the right thing to do would be to trade Kenny Thomas to an eastern conefrence team -- where he could start. I dont think its fair to ask a player as talented as he is to sit behind two players(Griffin, Taylor) who are near his equal. Thats the only real move I would like to see made between now and training camp.

    next years refurbished lineups:

    1st Squad

    PG/ Steve Francis
    SG/ Cuttino Mobley
    C/ Yao Ming
    SF/ Glen Rice
    PF/ Maurice Taylor

    2nd squad

    PG/ Moochie Norris
    SG/ Miles Simon
    C/ Kelvin Cato
    SF/ Bostan Nachbar
    PF/ Eddie Griffin

bench warmers: Tierre Brown(or 2nd round pick)
    Terrance Morris

    IR: Jason Collier

I could see Rudy sitting Kelvin Crapo and going with a 8, 9 man roatation where he rotates Ming, Griff, and Taylor at the 4, 5 pos.

If we get Odom/Nachbar, then all I care about is that we keep Tierre, and either keep Oscar or get another backup 2. Langhi is gone, TMo is probably staying, Rice is probably staying, Walt is probably gone. Who knows who we'll trade for Odom if the Rockets really want him though? Doc said we aren't trading KT, but you never know...Draft day can be crazy...I can't wait

    Z,
I did not say that. In fact, I said quite the opposite.

Seriously? Why do we need Kenny Thomas? He's just another power forward, and we have two other ones on our team. I would rather have Kenny Thomas than Maurice Taylor, but Taylor is virtually untradeable. Kenny Thomas is not a three, no matter what you say. He does not have the speed, outside shots, and ballhandling to be a three. Eddie Griffin deserves the nod over Kenny Thomas also, so there really is no place on our team for Kenny Thomas.

We should package our #15 pick and Kenny Thomas for a higher draft pick, so that we can get a good small forward. Maybe we could offer the L.A. Clippers the #15 pick and Kenny Thomas for the number #12 pick. The Clippers need a tough backup for Elton Brand, and Kenny Thomas would be a good choice.

    Rocketbooster,
    LOL!

    Z,

Doc Rocket said KT would not be traded. I do not agree. I do not see any other way except a trade. Either that or MoT is gone. Hmmmmmm!!!!

You seriously under estimate the value of a player like KT. If he can develop a consistent perimeter game he would make an excellent SF. Theres no reason to think he can't since he has improved his game every year since coming here.

I hope Kenny Thomas stays, I hope Langhi and Collier are released, and I hope the Rockets keep Kevin Willis as a back-up center rather than keeping Collier and Williams as a back-up sf/sg instead of Langhi. But, knowing Rudy, he is going to do the opposite.

Lets hope that somehow we get Rashard Lewis and then we will be set:
    pg- Francis, Norris
    sg- Mobley, Rice
    sf- Lewis, #15
    pf- Taylor, Griffin, Thomas
    c- Ming, Cato, Collier

Torres will go to Minnesota as a free agent, Williams and Willis will be gone.
Getting Lewis will be the key, as FA or a sign and trade.

Why the hell is Torres going to Minnesota? Who is the best free agent small forward out there at the moment that we can try to go after? It would be nice to have Lewis, but Seattle is going to woo him w/ $$....

Please Excuse me ROCKET!!!; I confused Doc's post on KT for yours. Let's let bygones be by gones!!!

But, how busy do you think that the rest of the summer will be? Players have to be moved. So who is going to be moved? Have you heard anything, or are the Rockets going to be very busy during draft night; enough to set their roster on Wednesday with all but a little tinkering left to go?

A lot of Questions, but Draft day is getting closer; what will happen?
