Its early in the the season but the way francis is playing is mvp status. He averages 29.3 points a game, 9.7 boards, and 4.7 assist. If it wasn't for francis the rockets would be 0-3 he is the best player by far on the rockets and has stepped up his game. Not only has been scoring more he has been passing more. Before this season I didn't think the rockets would be a playoff team but with Francis playing like this we might go further in the playoffs. Not only Francis but its also been Kelvin Cato hes been rebounding and blocking shots like crazy. The only one bad thing I have seen is Yao Ming and people dont realize he sucks hes pathetic in what i have seen of him I would have rather got Butler and I mean Rasual Butler. But with Francisand Cato playing like they're the rockets might go farther than thought so Yao get used the Bench and the english dictionary.

Iverson is highly overrated. Steve i much better then him. Francis is shooting 49%, while AI is shooting 35 percent. Steve averages more points, and shoots less.

I pretty much agree Steve is better than AI as well. Doesn't mean I want him to play like AI, but I think he's more talented and if he played AI's way, he be a lot better than AI. JMO.

edit: Oh yeah, forgot about the Yao remark. Don't worry about him right now. He's still learning the game over here and got to TC late. He's still doing pretty well in the oppotunities given to him. With Cato playing well, Yao should be able to adjust nicely. (kind of like what you said.)

I toally agree. I don't want Steve to shoot everytime he gets the ball like Iverson does, but if he did, he would put up better numbers then Iverson.

Did you forget that we are winning? There is no problem, if we can get it done with Francis at point, then there is no problem.

Terrible first post and thread. Do not post again for sometime.

Now, how many playoff victories does this player that is better than Iverson have in his past?

Before Francis can consider himself in the class of the better players he needs to put the Rockets in the playoffs, once he does that .NOBODY will disagree with you guys.

If we were in the East, we would've easily made the playoffs the last 2 years. Remember when we were 25-5 against the East, the year that the Sixers went to the Finals? We would've been #1 in the East, if we played Eastern Conference teams night in and night out.

I wasn't flaming or anything. It is just a fact: You earn your bones in the NBA during the playoffs. If you haven't been to the playoffs nobody takes you seriously. Bomb out in the playoff and you always have a dark cloud over your career. Paul Pierce is a prime example.

Right now it is a toss up, but if Steve gets the same level of dedication to defense then I would take Steve over AI.

I think as the Rockets improve as a team, Steves scoring numbers will go down, but assists will improve. It may not be this year, surely the next..Whenever that happens, I will agree that Steve is better than AI.

2 years ago, yeah, but last year?

I also agree that, in terms of valuable you can't put Francis above Iverson until he carries a team as far as Iverson carried the Sixers 2 years back. Would I take Iverson over Steve? For a career, no way...for a season, probably not...but if I had to take one for a Game 7, sorry, but Iverson would still be my Answer....

Iverson is not overrated...look how many playoffs hes taken the Sixers to then compare that w/ Stevie...I love Stevie but until he takes the Rocks to that next step (playoffs) I cant consider him in the same level as AI.

Haha...I guess I am the only one that got that...Michael Jackson quote...smooth...

To answer the original post, Francis is doing good, but lets not get carried away just yet. Like many others have said, lets wait til playoff time...

    Stevie cannot guard Iverson one-on-one.

Steve is a much better rebounder.

Iverson has a slightly better shot.

    Iverson is slightly quicker.

Neither is a great passer or assist guy.

I know this is your first post, but use some commas please. Maybe you need an English grammar book. BTW, Yao is not "pathetic" and he does not "suck". Maybe he won't live up to everyone's expectations of him being a dominating center, but he will be a top 5 center in this league at the least.
