Maybe not exactly mourning but.. I didn't really care when I first heard heath ledger's death but after getting off the initial high after this awesome movie, I realized the joker wont be back. Anyone else felt a little of that sadnes?
Man, these "The Dark Knight" threads keep piling up. You just know a movie is damn good when it garners this much discussion. About Ledger, you know, I didn't really notice his acting anbilities in those of his early movies I'd seen (Knight's Tale, The Patriot, Brothers Grimm) so it really saddens me that he died just as he was really breaking out and showing us all what he was capable of. We missed a great one here, but at least we got to see him shine (and MAN, did he ever) one last time.
Heath has one more movie coming out next year. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1054606/ And this could've gone in one of the other TDK threads
It is sad. Joker says he and Batman are destined to battle it out until the end of time (basically). But it can never be. It does hurt. The Joker (Ledger's) is one of the greatest big screen characters of all time no doubt.
As the person, sure I'm going to miss Heath Ledger. He was a great young actor that should have had a huge career in front of him. But I'm not going to miss the Joker from the Nolan-Batman series. The Joker's story arc, and Ledger's performance was perfect in this film. Where the heck could you take it from here? Even if Ledger was alive, another Batman movie in this series featuring the Joker would almost certainly be a disappointment.
