Okay, I don't start many threads, but this is something that has bothered me for a while. Let me start by getting a few of the PC disclaimers out of the way. I understand that some people are fat not by choice, but rather due to glandular malfunctions, etc and there isn't much they can do about it. This is not directed at them. I understand that there is a decent contingent of people in the world that do not move around easily, whether because they are old, crippled, etc and need help. This thread is not directed at those people. This thread is directed at the overweight people of the world who go the grocery store, have more than enough energy and ability to walk up and down the aisles so they can buy their lard flavored ice cream and check out, yet STILL determine that they need to commandeer one of these motorized shopping carts so they won't have to get the 15 minutes of minor exercize involved with shopping for groceries. It's laziness personified. And what's worse, it seems like half these people don't have a clue how to operate these things, or don't really care. They'll block the entire aisle while they're studying the various flavors of pop-tarts, seemingly oblivious to people using their own two feet that need to get by. Or they might round a corner at high speed (which is admittedly not high, but fast enough that you have to be on your toes...as they are not) and nearly slam into you. It's a sympton of the overweight mentality. To me, using these carts when you clearly don't NEED to should be something to be ashamed of...but more and more I am seeing it and they don't seem to care. So I suggest this, the old people that man the front of many large shopping establishments, such as Wal-mart, need to approve the use of these carts. Don't just put them out there for any loafer or lollygagger to use. If they really want to embarass themselves, they have to explain themselves first. Make them admit they are doing it because they are lazy...that or shoot them. Really, I know there isn't a solution to this, but I felt like ranting. Carry on about your business.
Manny, I wholeheartedly, 100%, without any conditionals, agree with your rant... and have thought those same thoughts for years.
Premise: drapg just bought a house. drapg has become senile. Conclusion: homeownership leads to senility.
Don't be jealous. Anyone can use those carts. You don't even have to ask. I like running over screaming children. It's fun.
I don't care who rides in them. I think that there ought to be a DMV to get a license for one. Another point. What if someone that really needed it didn't have one available, because they were all used up? Perhaps a simple solution would be to show your handicapped tag when you try to use it.
Wow. My bad. For some reason, the rant and writing style screamed "Manny Ramirez" to me. I didn't even bother looking at the thread starter. Raven... I AGREE!!!!
yea...afterall that works so well for handicapped parking spaces... you know what Im talking about... RIET, that is true...I own a home and I am senile at least 50% of the time....it just seems worse for drapg cause he is such a health freak...ya gotta have the toxins in your body to combat senility..
Ah, no, not a direct reference, but I have seen that website before...so maybe I did it without realizing.
