I submit Beltway 8 and Fairmont in Pasadena. East of the loop, on the south side of Fairmont you have a shopping center with a Barnes & Noble with a Starbucks. Directly across on the north side is a Target with a Starbucks inside, and a stand alone Starbucks in the same parking area. Now on the immediate West of the loop another Starbucks is being constructed. Four total.
If Weingarten Realty gets their way, the River Oaks shopping center area will have Beltway 8 & Fairmont Pkwy beat.
Lewis Black has a funny bit about this... "...and if you walk to the end of the block, there sits a Starbucks. And directly across the street -- in the exact same building as that Starbucks -- there is... another Starbucks. There is a Starbucks across the street from a Starbucks! And ladies and gentlemen, THAT is the end of the universe." - Lewis Black Everything is on youtube! http://youtube.com/watch?v=ddG_BTWee4Q&search=lewis black
Bay Area in Clear Lake 1) At the Freeway by the B&N. 2) At Hwy3 (not even 2 minutes away) by the Boston Market 3) Travel another 2 minutes towards Nasa, on your right by Murphy's. 4) Across the freeway, again not even 2 minutes from the B&N, is another at SuperTarget EDIT: and 1 in the SuperTarget i think - holy crap! 5) not even 2 blocks further west is one across 528. I bet there's more, for instance, in Baybrook mall. Basically, there is a starbucks every 1-2 minutes from 528 to upper bay road. Five of them, on average about every 2 stop lights.
My ex moved to Kerrville from Denver. She had lived (and worked) downtown. She said that there were 5 Starbucks within a 3 block radius of her office.
On the other hand, in the hood, I can't find a Starbucks anywhere. The closest one to my house is in the Med Center. In fact, looking at Starbucks' store locator, there is only one Starbucks between 288, 45, and 610 south (though they might not be couting the ones inside other stores, which aren't owned by Starbucks anyway).
Absolutely ridiculous. Two stand-alone Starbuck's RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM EACH OTHER. And they're both crowded! WTF!?!? Reminds me of the scene in "Best In Show" where the yuppie couple talks about how they met at Starbuck's, except they were “not in the same Starbucks but across the street from each other.”
[Ob. Simpson's Quote] Guy: Can I help you? Bart: I'd like to get my ears pierced! Guy: Better make it quick, kiddo, in five minutes this place is becoming a Starbucks. Bart walks out and all the stores in the mall are now Starbucks [/Ob. Simpson's Quote]
YOu guys should see seattle, every block downtown usually has at least 1 starbucks, at least 1 Tullys and at least 1 Seattle's Best.
