Here's an idea that will appeal mostly to those with high speed Internet. I'm going to suggest a song which I feel embodies the concept of joy better than any I've ever heard. Other posters are asked to do the same (just one song), BUT, prior to posting, you must attempt to download my choice and at least two other suggested tracks you haven't heard. (Obviously the first few posters are exempt.) I think users would be best advised to pick songs by artists they've never heard, for maximum freshness. If this experiment flies, we can do future ones with other themes (anger, sadness, more specific emotions I can't think of right now). My track (required listening for the entire class): <b>"Song for a Young Queen" by Chris Thile.</b>
I think what he means is to pull this song from your own personal CD collection and listen to it. ... I'm sure that's what he means.
Then what does this mean?? "BUT, prior to posting, you must attempt to download my choice and at least two other suggested tracks you haven't heard."
A grammy winner isn't exactly unheard of and obscure, but that doesn't seem relevant to your post anyway. You can listen to exerpts of songs on Amazon legally. Song for a Young Queen
Great idea. I downloaded it. Interesting. No words? My suggestion: "Message of Love" by Enuff Z'Nuff.
Ode to Joy - Beethoven Tchnically not a song, but part of a symphony. You should be able to find it anyway. Extra points for being written by someone who is deaf.
