How predictable But gonna have to go with Rockets. I don't really feel anything when Miami loses, even if I am interested in seeing how far they can go. It's genuinely painful and frustrating when Rox lose
I agree with the first two posters so far. The Rockets are an underdog that never get the rep they deserve by staying so close in games and never quite pulling it out (the last 3-4 seasons, at least). This season it's just downright painful.... the plane was supposed to take flight and we're just hitting random objects on the ground. Miami is just a giant bandwagon of star chasers with a much smaller % of loyal, battle-hardened fans. I don't think many people are disappointed when Miami loses..
Good points. Also a lot of people like myself never really considered Miami as the favorite to win it all, the title still goes through the Lakers.
Heat The Rockets have key injuries and a player who is on a time limit. The only key injury the Heat has is Mike Miller.
The rockets are always the underdogs, but Miami has been the most disappointing team so far, they have 3 superstars on their roster and they are 5-4, they definitely have some issues to work on. Btw Like Phil Jackson said having too many talents doesn't always win.
From an objective point of view, it's easily the Rockets. The Heat are right about where I expected them to be now. Showing their muscle in a few games and demonstrating just how good they can be, and getting exposed by a couple of other teams who know how to punish them with toughness and physicality. The Rockets, on the other hand, have performed way below expectations, and ought to be much, much better than 1-6.
the Heat are being exposed for their weakness of having no inside presence, I dont expect them to win more than 60 games the rockets were much weaker last year and managed a .500+ record, I thought we would easily be a top 4 seed in the west because I thought Yao, Lee, Miller, and Hill would make this team better but unfortunately not. Lee has worst shot selection than Artest, Miller is almost useless at 35, Yao probably wont make it through the season and he is nowhere near the player he was. Brooks and Miller are horrible defenders. Battier is over the hill. Jordan Hill is still too raw too be a force and Budinger is not having a breakout year like I thought he would.
BUT The plane is still moving. So that means we still have time to take flight. It's a long runway and we have a good engines on our plane. This season is far from over my friend. This is not a 16 game football season where 6 losses will make you start questioning making the playoffs. We all figured we would win around 45-50 games right? So that meant we would lose around 32-37 games right? We have lost 6 of those so far. What's all the panic for? The heat are the ones that should be dissapointed so far. They have their full team healthy and playing. They didn't have to deal with minute restrictions on LeBron or Wade. They didn't have to lose Bosh or Wade to a ankle injury. Here they are 5-4 after 9 games.... They are starting to worry over there.
WOW did I miss 40 games or something? I could have sworn we have only played 7 games so far. All these comments are coming in like we have already played half the season.
I'm not even surprised about the Heat - I fully expected them to get nailed opening night by Boston, and Mike Miller being out stings. It was a toss up how quick they'd gel and find themselves as a unit. I think the biggest thing dogging them right now is Chris Bosh pulling a gigantic pansy act. For all the crap heaped on James, Bosh very clearly wanted to sign up for with the trio so he could start taking it easy and no longer carry a squad. They need him to be a hammer on the blocks, and he's literally coasting and hiding on the wings. Grow a pair and hit the boards, you loser.
well, going by the stats page at www.knickerblogger.net, the rockets are underperforming their expected winning % by 30.7% (exp = 45%, actual = 14.3%), which is easily the worst in the league. the heat are underperforming by 24% (exp=79.6%, actual=55.6%), 2nd worst in the league. neither team has had any luck in close games so far (i think the rockets have led in the 4th of all 6 losses and paul millsap was raining 3's against the heat) and it is making their early season performances look worse than they are. hopefully, the bounces equal out (as they usually do) over the course of 82 games and their records start to better reflect their quality of play. although the rockets still need to increase the quality of their play as winning 45% of our games isn't going to get it done.
Rockets easily. 1-6 is pathetic, no matter how you look at it. I wasn't one of those drinking the Heat koolaid, so their record isn't surprising. You can't have 3 guys, or 2 now that Bosh has been exposed a little, playing 5 positions, 48 minutes a game, 82 games a year.
