My friend and I who is an avid New York Knicks fan were having a conversation last night about who is the most accomplished player on the Rockets. He mentioned Ariza was because he went to the finals and won a ring with the Lakers.

I argued that going there does mean you are the most accomplished player on the team, I think it would be Scola. He has the skill set, desire, heart, and he has won a gold medal if I am not mistaken.

Anyways who would you guys say is the most accomplished player on this team?

    Basketball wise? Scola.

In general? It's gotta be Jeffries...no but seriously, Yao.

Definitely Scola. As others have mentioned, he's got a gold medal. He's got hardware from the best European leagues. And in international competition, he is often the best player on one of the best teams.

Given that this is the NBA it has to be Ariza.
Euro league accolades don't carry over.. i.e.
    David Anderson.

Is Robert Horry a more accomplished player than Jordan, Magic, Bird, etc...

He has more NBA titles than almost every superstar in the history of the league...

    It's Yao or Scola.

No, because there are other factors such as MVP, defensive payer of the year. etc.. Any kind of NBA recognition or award. No NBA player would give up their title for an Olympic medal. Not even sure they would in the NHL.
Last year I would have picked Mutumbo, but since Yao is not playing right
    now still going with Ariza.

Look, the question was most accomplishedplayer, not most skilled, and in the NBA the highest accolade is the NBA Championship, not an olympic title.

Hell, Karl The ******* Malone won a gold medal but never got that elusive ring, now which do you think matters more?

It's Scola, the man has done everything international, just needs that NBA championship ring.

I'll go with Yao....from 2005-2008 he avg. 23ppg and 10rpg. Avg. together of course.
Plus he makes the most money of all the players on our current roster, including the off the court stuff. In life Money means almost everything...the fame ehh.
I think Bill Murray once said on fame and fortune...."Just try being rich, and see if that isn't enough.

off the top of my head id say Ariza based off the fact that he has a ring

but I immediately thought of Scola having won a Gold Medal with Argentina and I think he has a Bronze last Olympics in Beijing?

so I think Id have to go with Scola cuz winning a Gold medal for your country and becoming immortal in your country is by far a greater accomplishment
