Does this get included in the Randy Ratio Randy Moss in police custody for allegedly hitting traffic officer Associated Press Published Sep 25, 2002 MOSS25 Minnesota Vikings receiver Randy Moss was in police custody Tuesday after an incident with a police traffic control officer, WCCO-TV reported. WCCO reported Moss bumped the officer with his car in downtown Minneapolis, ignoring her signals to stop. The officer was pushed about two feet by Moss's car, and was not seriously hurt, WCCO reported. A police spokeswoman didn't immediately return a page from The Associated Press. Moss has been involved in a number of on- and off-field incidents since he was drafted in the first round in 1998, including squirting a referee with a water bottle in 1999 and abusing corporate sponsors on the team bus in 2001. New coach Mike Tice vowed the Vikings would throw 40 percent of their passes to Moss this year after the Vikings went 6-10 last season. But the Vikings are off to an 0-3 start, their worst since 1967, and Moss caught only four passes for 16 yards in Sunday's loss to Carolina.
I seriously think this guy needs to go play for the Raiders. Does anyone know the NFL trade rules and if it is remotely feasible (say Moss for a #1, #3 & #5 pick from 2003 draft plus another conditional #1/#2 from 2004) . I kinda doubt it, seeing how Barry Sanders couldn't really be traded, but then again Ricky Williams was, I am curious. Moss and the Silver and Black would be a perfect fit, I truly believe. Plus Minnesotta needs to dump him and go to full throttle rebuilding. It would seem like a Win-Win-Win (except for the Broncos, he, he)
We haven't had a good trouble maker on the Cowboys since Irwin left. I'll take him on the Cowboys anyday.
I love Randy, he is my favorite foot ball player. I hate he keeps getting into these off the field situations because it is taking away from how good of an athelete he really is. People are going to judge him personally, which will eventually effect him professionally.
Hey, I just found out his middle name is Gene!(it was on his mugshot thing.) ESPN News will have a little reaction on it. I think it will be on later. edit: From what I heard, it was nothing much more than the article above. Said the officer was using her whistle, but he didn't stop. She also had a type of uniform. He didn't resist arrest, but was not happy. He was alone. Blah, blah, blah. It did say he may have to stay in jail overnight. (maybe.)
What a ****up. His talent is immense, but so is his stupidity. I know everyone keeps saying how every other NFL team would love to have him, but I don't think that's true anymore. He half-asses on a regular basis - even on plays thrown to him. b****es out his coach and QB for not giving him the ball and has the offense subordinated to him. I think there are somethings that even NFL coaches wouldn't put up with.
i think he is depressed and want to get away, he might have aids or something cause he has been acting really strange.
There is a reason he went to Marshall instead of Notre Dame people. His attitude sucks and he's NOT a good guy.
Yea, he would be the perfect Raider. I'm sure that Al Davis would encourage his current type of behavior. Being a Bronco fan, I would welcome the challenge of Randy Moss playing for the Raiders. Shanahan isn't scared of anyone or any team. Remember that. Plus as renegade as the Raiders are, it wouldn't take long for Moss to destroy that team, too, which would help the Broncos even more.
Exactly. The guy is a cancer. I wouldn't be surprised at all for Culpepper to give the Vikes a "he goes or I do" ultimatum sometime in the future. Think the 17 or so teams that passed him up in the draft still regret doing so? I saw him on ESPN this morning say basically that the anger management class the Vikes made him take in the off-season (after he went off on a group of corporate sponsors who were sitting in the front of the team bus late last season, I bet ol' Red loved that one) was "a waste of time" or something to that effect. He's overpaid, he underachieves, and he's a terrible teammate (and human being in general). Yeah, I'm sure all 31 other teams would love to have the guy. From Gregg Easterbrook, ESPN Page 2: "Randy Moss opened the season declaring that Minnesota "would have a ring now" if only the offense were based solely and exclusively on him. Timid rookie Vikes coach Mike Tice caved and drew up an offense based solely on Moss. Sunday, Moss rose to the challenge with four catches for 16 yards. On one play, he pulled up his pattern for no apparent reason and watched passively as the ball sailed to the Carolina safety for an interception. On another, he ran the wrong route, then, when the ball zinged by him, instead of knocking it down to prevent the INT -- as a receiver, if you can't get the catch your job is to make sure no one else does -- he weirdly tapped it up into the air as if to be sure to keep it alive for the Panthers interception that followed. Daunte Culpepper came off and screamed at Moss on the sideline. TMQ's question was: Why wasn't the timid Tice ("Timid Tice," that might catch on) screaming at Moss? Or sending him to the showers?"
This is amongst the many reasons I hate it when people compare Owens and Moss...While they are both extraorinarily gifted recievers, Moss is an all-around headcase who takes plays off, misses practice, etc... While Owens may complain in the media, no one, repeat, no one on the 49ers plays or practices harder. Even his biggest critics acknowledge that...I can easily live with the odd temper tantrum in the press if the guy has the talent, the heart, and the work etchic, and Owens has all that. Moss has the talent...period.
Unless I'm mistaken Randy's problem's have been minor in comparison to other athletes yet it seems like he really gets a bad rap from everybody. He is very charasmatic and is one of my favorite players. Last week he had a shouting match with Culpepper and everyone jumped down his throat yet said nothing about Culpepper. It amazes me, Randy can't be electric if Cpepp can't get him the ball and Randy gets a bad wrap for showing emotion on the sideline to his underacheiving QB, sounds like a player who wants to win to me.
