Let me start by saying that the best coach in the NBA will find a replacement to fill Mo's shoes. To all the Rockets haters posing as fans, you better believe that Steve and Co. will make the playoffs this year. A lot of the people on this board remind of b!tches in heat. It's either one extreme or the other. The epitomy of being irrational. From winning the NBA championships this year with the draft of Griffin to the demise of our playoff hopes with the addition of Rice and now the loss of Taylor. Do you understand the game of basketball at all? First off, it's a TEAM game. But I digress, the point of this thread was not to bash the ignorant among us. It's almost sad when you think of this situation from Mo's view. As with all athletes who are injured, sitting on the bench watching your teammates play and rally from a 20 point deficit in the 4th quarter...that's tough. Emotionally and mentally, I hope someone from the Rockets organization can help Mo through this. Aside from the physical rehabilitation, I think as importantly, is his mental health. We all know Mo has heart, and I'll keep an eye on him on the bench this season. This injury only endears him further to his fans. Heart and loyalty are things that you rarely find these days. Good luck and get well soon Mo!
Maybe Mo should call Shandon. SA did a lot of watching from the bench during the 4th quarters last season.
This team was definitely ready to take off with a health Taylor... Hopefully, a suitable replacement can be found...
Yes, when the Mo bashers are telling us after a big win that "See, we are better off without Mo," let's remember that his biggest tendon was torn from its bone, and his foot is completely immobilized for weeks followed by months of excruciatingly painful therapy. And he is not going to do this for us. He is going to do it for himself; his unwillingness to let his dreams fade. If he comes back 100% with no fear of reinjury, it won't be from luck. It will be from a very strong will to play this game at a high level.
coma, i'm glad that you posted that great article because i was starting to get confused by the people on this board also. all during last season and this summer, everyone was talking about how mo had no heart or desire to rebound, he wasn't worth the contract that we gave him, and he would only be a third option, etc.....and now you guys are saying that our playoff hopes are merely dead because mo went down. come on guys, give me a break. mo wasn't going to bring us to the promise land and you know it. i understand feeling sorry for the guy personally, but on the court, how can 13 ppg and 5 rbs end all playoff hopes. our playoff hopes still centers around francis and mobley. everyone else is just along for the ride. we will still be in the playoffs this year and i'm predicting at least the second round of the playoffs. rice will become the third option and a good one at that. i think griffin will surprise alot of people this year because everyone just thinks he's a defensive force but the guy can score also and has range on his jumper. so people, there is still hope for this year just as there was hope before mo went down.
