I was searching and watching old tapes and finally found the guy who's game is similar to Morris, Derrick McKey. I'm not talking about the old guy playing now. I'm talking about him when he entered the league in 87 and played on those Sonics teams that used to beat the Rockets.

I don't know if its good or bad because he was a decent player for about 8 good yrs, but he seemed to take the backseat although he had the potential to dominate. A young McKey could guard anyone 1-4, rebounded ok and was a good ballhandler. Thats why so many people watching never understood why he didn't take over ball games. His shot was suspect past 18ft, but he could post, run the court and finish the break as well as start the break. I see Morris being the same way for some reason. Its not like its bad having a player like him either on the bench or starting, it just seems like for someone with the all around game, they should use it and dominate.

I think Morris will fill into this type of player by his demanor and attitude. Personally I wish he was as mean as Mario and took over stretches with his skill level. I'm not talking about this yr, I'm just talking about in general. I think in the nxt yr or so what I'm talking about as far as the McKey type of play. Morris has no limit for what he could do on the court if he had the aggressive attitude, but for some reason I think he'll take a back seat just like McKey did most of his career. Istead of being a 17pt 8reb 5asst small forward, he'll be a 12pts 5 rebs 3 asst type of guy. I hope I'm wrong, very wrong.

I should start off by admitting that I loved McKey early on, and always thought he was an underrated but frustrating player. In fact, I was going to post his name in a " Most Underrated Player" thread a little while back, until I heard that he was so underrated that the Pacers had released him...

Hiowever, I don't think Morris has the post game McKey had ( but rarely used in latter years) nor do I think he has quite the defensive versatility that McKey had, although that is closer...McKeys' defensive range ran 1-5 quite comfortably in his prime, and I suspect Morris will be more of a 2-4, still quite good. And I think that Morris is probably a better playmaker than McKey was...but still, there are similarites, especially in demeanor and versatility, and both might do better with a touch more aggressivness, although it's too early to conclude that about Morris...Interesting comparison, though...

The Rocks in the near future will have 3 young 20 pt/games players: Steve, Cat, and Eddie. What they need from the rest of the team is role players. Cato and Morris fit that bill.

I'm glad others see this similarity as well. People kept saying he looked like Robert Horry but I just didn't see it in his game.

Derrick McKey was a very good role player. If that's all Terence Morris becomes, that's fine with me.

Morris is extremely hesistant on offense, but is a decent defender, there are some similarities to McKey but Mckey played with more confidence than Morris although to be fair to Morris he is only a rookie, but I'm afraid that he lacks the aggressiveness to be a good scorer in the NBA.

Morris seems to lack the aggresiveness to be a good rebounder or defender.

Right now, he might be projected to be a half decent defender and rebounder.

I really don't have much hope for him offensively, other than being a 10-12 ppg scorer at most.
