Hey just wondering, does anyone know what Morey was refering to when he tweeted "Somewhere Derek Harper and Mike Fratello are smiling. I thought we changed that rule." ??

prob talking about the foul on brooks when he was clearly jumping in the air at the end of the game and they called it on the ground, not a shooting foul.

The no touching on the perimeter rule........Derek Harper used to man handle guards on the perimeter, kind of like Fisher did to our guys tonight.

Hand checking of course. Fisher for whatever reason is allowed to play super physical on the perimeter. It wasn't just tonight he got away with so many bumps and all last night against Westbrook.

Same with the last few plays only way Fisher was able to play those screen and rolls with AB was by hand checks and holds. Also at the end he and Kobe both got Ariza. Kobe's hand was on Trevors mid section the entire time.

To hear Morey upset goes to show how bogus the refs were tonight. Heard Coach was mad in post game as well

    National Business Association.

I'm tired of seeing the same "stars" every year. I want to see competition, and spread around team scoring. The 02 Kings were the fun team to watch, not Kobe shooting two free throws. Stern doesn't want to sell the product, he wants to sell the players.

Fisher has been allowed to play like that for YEARS because he's "an elite defender"

Fact is that Fisher is slow and crap. When he played for 'other' teams he got called - now he's allowed to bully the opposing PGs all he wants and never get called.

    Odd.

Adelman actually said he was "frustrated". That's about as upset as I have heard him in three years at a post game. The guy seems unflappable normally.

Overall, pretty bad down the stretch. The refs made too many lopsided calls. NBA=WWF.

I can't wait till Kobe retires. He's such a sell out. After LeBron, please stop.

I can't couldn't see the number the ref wore, but the ref with the dark hair was bad. With phantom calls and giving possession to the wrong team (later over-ruled by the footage). Brooks in particular was frustrated with him ... gave that ref a pat on the butt as he left the court to which the ref didn't seem to like.

    Yup. Handchecking.

Derek Harper was to hand checking as Roy Williams is to horse collaring.

    I didn't notice the hand-checking.

Also didn't notice it last year, when opposing team's fans constantly complained about us doing it to them (Artest especially).

fisher doesnt necessary hand check the way harper used to during the mid 90s with arm extended but he consistently bodies up the player and really gets into a players path and knocks players off balance its almost like a consistent hip check all game long.

he has been doing this his entire career and even after the rule was put into place gets away with it a lot.

in last nights game after they finally called a foul on fisher in the OT (against thunder) fisher complained to the refs and its understandable why he was upset because he had been doing it the entire 4th and OT and never was called so why call it now?

    meh.

I don't want to bag on AB too much, because he hit some big shots, but I would question Aaron more than the refs.

he is so unpredictable. I think Aaron Brooks might be too damn fast for his own mind. His body seems to react quicker than his brain does. Which is why I think he is always "inventing a new shot."

I'm not trying to make a case for Lowry to be the starter, but at least with Kyle, you know what you're gonna get. Kyle has his mind made up before he takes a shot.

Aaron literally seems to change his mind in mid-air.

guys...that wasn't the reason we lost. The lakers will always have the reffs in their back pocket, nothing new.

But lets look at what we did wrong, Landry was the only player, oh and hayes, that played well.

You can't run a factory with a fraction of your already worn down and rusty cogs.

How undermanned we are isn't easy to put into words.

By the way, I think you guys should take a look at this. Jazz Fans are looking at our team in a model manner. What we stand for is something much greater than a bunch of scrappy players having fun out there, but that effort and desire can triumph talent.

The Lakers played clean defense, I thought.

No need to blame the refs.

Nobody stepped up besides Hayes and Landry.
