Our tweets to Scola would be more effective in Spanish, IMO. Anyone here speak Spanish?

I'm sure the reaction by both players and their agent is:

I just tried but twitter is over capacity and asked me to try later.
It seems like NBA fans overall are sending messages to all FA.

We need to make sure that all our members are active in this period.

If the rockets land Bosh, will they match Scola's offer from another team?

Good question? Would be really want 8-10 million coming off the bench?

I know Yao will have limited minutes meaning, if we do get bosh, he will play some 5 and Scola at the 4.

I'll let Morey worry about that. But it was reported that Les has made it clear that Morey will match any offer for Lowry and Scola.

Scola and Lowry....2 of our last breed of bulldogs. And an important part of our previous Championship run. There is no question THEY ARE as IMPORTANT AS YAO imo. If we lose them...we're in trouble.

Not sure why this matters. Their agents will be actively seeking out offers no matter what. And the Rockets can match such offers no matter what.

Morey's probably doing it to make these guys feel better when teams reject their deals out of fear of Rockets matching. And Scola/Lowry then has to face the prospect of just a one-year deal.

I'd definitely want Scola coming off the bench. If you lose Scola in acquiring Bosh, the net gain is much smaller. The team needs Scola's scoring, rebounding, savvy and attitude. He not only fits with the team's culture, he defines it. Bosh-Scola at PF would be a devastating combination.

where is this 8-10 million coming from?

in order for him to have an offer larger than the MLE one of the teams with cap space must make the offer. all of those teams are rebuilding and do not want to spend their cap to rebuild around a 30 year old complimentary player. in addition, scola is maybe the 5th best pf on the market. so 4 of those teams with cap space will choose someone other than him.

the odds of an offer being greater than MLE are slim to none.

The problem is that whether Scola wants to come off the bench to backup Bosh. I heard he didn't play for the spurs because he didn't want to backup Duncan. If he doesn't want to come off the bench, he could accept the one-year qualified offer to become free agent next year.

So what Morey is really do is trying to get them to turn down any offers and return to the Rockets for cheap.

I'm worried that one of these caps space teams will lose out on the top tier guys and offer Scola a big salary just so they can have something to show for it.

As for Lowry, if Miami, NY, or whatever ends up with two top free agents, I can see them wanting Lowry. A guy who won't need the ball, will do a lot of dirty work, get to the line early so the starts get foul shots. I think he can kinda play the Rondo role on a 3 star team, though obviously not as good. Very long shot regardless.

He didn't play for the Spurs because the Spurs didn't want to pay his buyout plus salary for someone to back up Duncan.
