I did not see this mentioned elsewhere, but on 610am this morning Morey was on.
The most important thing he probably said is that T-Mac, Rafer, and Battier are all playing with injuries that require surgery in the off season, along with several other players that will need to be scoped.

wow, tmac's knees are that serious?

hopefully this surgery will help his knees b/c that's more problematic than his back apparently (now all those that question his toughness, needs to really take a step back)

rafer and battier are not even close to 100%, esp. battier. i'm proud of this team. NOTHING is in our favor and we still bust our butts off.

Bad news but it doesn't really surprise me with any of them. How bad ass is it that 3 of our starters are playing through surgery requiring injuries?

How ironic that in the first season in a while that Tmac doesn't have a back problem, he has a "knee" problem that requires off-season surgery. The guy just can't get a break......

And Shane too? This is probably the first time he will need to surgery done.

i wonder if this is confirmed or was that just conjecture on morey's part? i don't think mcgrady has seen a specialist yet to discuss his knee issues. he said in his interview after practice the other day that he wasn't sure what the issue with his knee was and that he's afraid he might have to do something to it he doesn't want to (hinting at possibly surgery), but he wasn't sure of this.

Let's see what happens in the offseason...maybe some of these can heal on their own.

It's pretty NOT bad ass... if they injure themselves further.. we may not have a team next yr.

This team has heart. There is no question about it.

If Yao Ming can play, they will be contending instead of fighting for their life.

Heck, they could easily be 3-2 or even 3-1 if they took care of some layups, FTs or some mental mistakes in the previous few games.

The fact that Yao is already out, and 3 of our main players are playing on a serious injury says a lot about this team and says a lot about Utah considering the games we've lost has mainly been because we couldn't make layups and free throws.

If the Jazz win this series they probably will be swept by the Lakers but I don't see Utah winning this series. ;)

So it's McGrady's knee that will require surgery? Not his shoulder?

Gotta love this team! In the chron they said Battier was almost not gonna play Game 4 cause his foot was so sore. Seems like the 3 days between games could be a blessing.

Didn't Patterson say that Mac's back problems were due to a misalignment in his knee(s)?!?

I hope this allows Mac to play free and easy.

That's crazy. This team has some real heart if it's true. We are playing without our center, who's best in the league, and our three best players (arguably) are injured and require surgery this offseason. That's crazy. What does that say about Utah? They suck. They are letting a bruised and broken down half team give them all they can handle, and they even lost one game at home, and almost the second one...

    ...Where's IROC it?

.....and everybody is praising Kobe for playing with his pinkie. Our 3 best players are playing on 1 leg(and T-Mac on one arm)

I posted this in a few other threads, and it really makes this season that more incredible:

    Our starting line up:
Rafer - injured but playing - needs surgery
Tracy - multiple injuries, but playing - needs surgery
Battier - injured, but playing - needs surgery
    Scola - ? - needs layup drills
Yao - injured, out, had surgery

Key rotation players (or now starters in Deke's case):
Jackson - had injury, seems to be healed?
Landry - injured, but still playing - seems to be better, no longer wearing knee brace (just noticed last night)
Deke - well, he's just old by basketball standards

Who knows what else is hurt?

Despite McGrady's good shooting last night, his knee looked noticeably weaker to me. I saw a couple of times where he tried to accellerate and then pulled up in a way I haven't seen before. I think his knee is probably a lot worse than is being reported and while the shots are letting him play without major pain, structural problems have limited his explosiveness and speed to about 65%.

If anyone has ESPN Insider, check Rumor Central for 4/29. There's an article about McGrady's knee and the possibility of surgery. Please post!
