    Rockets will trade for replacement

Rockets GM Daryl Morey has revealed that Houston will attempt to trade for a replacement for the injured Yao Ming.

"I think we're probably going to have to trade for a center," Morey said after watching his summer league team in Las Vegas.

"That will probably be the plan at this point. There are a few free agents that might be later fill-ins, but I think most likely we'll address some of our needs through trades."

Morey said that the Rockets need more time to find out about Yao's injury and are not ready to make an announcement on the matter.

"We're going to make a joint release with Yao's advisors when we decide on a course of treatment," Morey said.

"Before that we're going to stay quiet on it because we don't really know until that decision is made what will happen."

Or bad news. The Rockets were supposedly hoping that some D-League players to stepped up. This just means those guys were busts.

I don't think the Rockets were expecting a D-Leaguer to step into a starting role.

This is real painful to watch. We go from supporting the best Center in the league to some one with potential from the D-league?

This is old. Morey gave the same answer last week about trading for a center.

Matt Jackson clarified it with his post on Przybilla as our target, but it depends on Portland's situation with Millsap.

Seriously, I like our draft picks. I hope Morey doesn't trade them away like he did Donte Greene.

If we can get the same value we got in return of Greene (Artest), then all our Summer League squad can go. These guys are second round picks, i'd be happy if they can average 15mpg next season and hold it together..

If Morey can get a center that can help the team right away then trading him could be a good move. Morey did it with Greene last year. Who would it be this year?

Wait for Taylor to score 40 in a summer league game then trade him for a STUD (ala the Ron Artest deal last year). Morey know's what he's doing! :D

I would hate to see Battier go, but if Morey could get Fernandez and Pryzbilla for him I wouldn't hesitate in pulling the trigger.

Blazers view Bayless as more than Brooks. So forget that inclusion.

Honestly, I don't think the Blazers would make that Fernandez+Pryz trade because again, they value Fernandez pretty highly.

I think the Blazers are open to moving Pryz, Outlaw, Webster etc. But I think they are really hesitant to move Bayless and Fernandez. I think they like Battier, but they would counter with an Outlaw+Webster type trade. Or a Pryz+Webster trade.

For me though, I don't move Battier to them unless I get Fernandez back.
