Morey is becoming the Tracy Mcgrady of general managers. Talks too much and cant get enough of first round (draft picks). Let's see some results already.
Great work Morey, you did the best that you could do. I think Thabeet will develop nicely over time, hopefully. Goran is an excellent pickup as well, he has the potential to start over Lowry. Those draft picks are awesome as well.
two things that stand out 1) the "this move positions us for the future" line might be true, but it's starting to sound repetitive 2) we've gone two full seasons(!) without a starting center, and these moves do nothing to remedy that
10x this. You have to take a chance, not like we had many options. The guy has barely had a chance and if he can just be a backup Center in a year or two that is a win IMO.
GJ working with the cards you were dealt Morey. These dumbass CF members who think that one can generate amazing trades without anything to give back will forever remain dumbasses!
"These moves position us better in the future. The big move that helps us now and in the future did not materialize.. ... but we feel like this positions us better in the future to make that move." First part I hope he was talking about Deron Williams, 2nd part is wishful thinking, none of our assets can be flipped for a superstar as is.
I wish we could've gotten McGee. I'm sure Morey called and the Wizards dumbasses offered us Rashard Lewis. I hate horribly bad teams with good individual players... or at least players that would've been extremely useful to us.
Come on - he openly volunteered that the move they want/need didn't happen - he didn't try and sell/spin the two moves as making them contenders. This is easily the most subdued and flat Morey has been after any trades. I'm as sick as anyone that the team has found themselves mired in mediocrity with nothing to cling to for hope moving forward. But I have no problems with the job Morey's done.
Indeed! We've been positioning ourselves for the future every year since Morey become the GM here. So far, his strategy of using multiple piece to convert into a superstar has failed.
