Morey has been very smart and efficent thus far with his offseason moves. I think he has to think in the long term like Yao will be back next year and Rockets will once again be ready to contend. So tell me, does Morey make a trade for a big name player this offseason, or does he clear cap space before the trade deadline to sign a free agent with the max next offseason. I dont see us having a chance with Lebron or D-Wade. It looks like its possible that Stoudemire and Bosh could stay with thier current teams. Steve Nash, Manu Ginobili, and Ray Allen are getting up there in age. Which leaves us with the one player I think will be our realistic target. Joe Johnson. If we know we can get him next offseason ahead of time then that's fine. But we also have to think that it could be possible we end up with nothing next offseason. If we make a trade this offseason for a player; Morey has control over a trade. And we have a big trade chip in McGrady's expiring contract that if we use it has to be used by the trade deadline. I'd like to hear all your thoughts on what the best option is.
What's next is to be patient, and wait for a CHANGE. Rockets has a good roster of role players, a solid star (Yao), and cap space (Tmac). All we need is wait for some superstar get pissed at their current team and/or head coach. May as well get some lottery picks while waiting too.
Why are u making useless threads again? I mean come on u think anybody on this board knows the answer? I mean come on now
What's next is to sign off clutchfans for the next couple months so the nothingness of the offseason won't drive you insane
Apparently its Shane Battier to Portland for Dante Cunningham which is actually pretty cool considering he is compared to a young Battier with more scoring/shot blocking ability.
I hope for the roster to make the PO and show morey he should have trusted them, and screw his "top 5 pick" plan.
"pretty good"? It´s a 33th draft pick with a name on it!! If Rudy Fernandez or ANYONE of value is not coming in that deal then the deal is worthless. No star will want to sign for a team with a star that last half a season, and an owner that dismantled the team because of an injury of his cashcow.
Just read about him, he's compared to Battier but can also block shots because of his jumping ability, lets face it Battier is not that athletic and is getting older and was injured last year so in my opinion it would be steal to get a guy that is considered a younger version of the guy you are trading especially when we definitely are not contending this year and Battier will only be older next year.
JR Smith had a "business" meeting today with the Rockets, whatever that means. Didn't want to start a new thread on this just passing along the message.
I think those who continue to whine about useless threads are just as annoying as the actual useless threads themselves. I come on this board a lot if its something i think is not worth my attention I simply exit out of the thread.
I'd like to ask the same question. How do people seriously post news like that and expect to be listened to if they don't say where they got it from. If they can at least admit that they just heard it from someone else, at least that's more information for everyone else to use to judge the validity of the claim.
He told the owner of scene ultra lounge in downtown Houston that he's gonna stop by the club. When asked what was his reason for being in Houston he brought up the meeting. I work for a promtiob team who promotes for said club. We saw the messages, a couple rappers and texans players will also be there. I am skeptical as well but take it with a grain of salt because I am.
