Morey hates when fans keep asking about Steve Francis, T-Mac's status, and when are we going to sign deke. Well not really but those are the most questions asked by media and fans. Questions are what people want to hear. Brent is out for a couple of weeks with a calf injury Tracy is out till his knee pain lesson. He can't hurt it more by playing. The pain hasn't gone away like the doctors had hope. Ron's ankle is bad shape. He's been playing hurt. It's affecting his game but it will not hurt if he still plays. It's very swollen. Yao is in great health right now. Morey feels good about us winning enough games to get home court and be healthy come playoff time. Wants Artest to be healthy. They are not concerned about Artest shooting woes. Artest is afraid he's not helping the team after the Denver game. Morey informed him that he is helping them win and that if he does need to sit, go ahead. They are concerned about offensive rebounding. Shane being out. Scola has been a little down. We're between 6-10 in the league in performance. Carl and AB have been bright spots for the bench. We have more guards on the floor because of injuries. Their best line-up is when Chuck is playing the 5(wow) Poor Yao. Morey focuses on the negatives and thinks about what he can change. He talks to Aldeman about how he can change things for offensive rebounding and zone defense. Six weeks is a good time to tell on how a team is playing. More trades happen after mid December or late December. Craig Ackerman (I'm sure I'm spelling his last name wrong) and Jason Friedman feel that Morey isn't going to sit pat. Jason feels that they have some pieces they can use for trade. Craig said that everyone is frustrated with all the injuries. The team is still number one in the southwest division and we have a weak December. Pacer's team did beat the Lakers. They are a good team. Jason states that the team should hit their stride just like last year around January and February. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Overall it was a great interview. I think Jason is 100% correct that this team will hit their stride late like they did last year. Injuries are the biggest reason why. One of the main reasons Boston was able to gel so fast was they spent soo much time together unlike our team. That has really hurt us. You can also state that KG, Allen, and Pierce are all different types of players unlike our three. But lets save that for a different conversation.
"Scola has been a little down" What did he mean by that. His stats are down? Is he down that he has to share his minutes with Landry. Can someone elaborate on why scola is down? Thanks
I'm thinking that he just meant that his performance has been a little down lately, compared to earlier in the year, and in the Olympics. Scola has had a couple of 20 pt games along with a few 10+ rebounding nights earlier this year if I recall correctly. I think that's all he was referring to....Scola would be the LAST person on the team to complain about sharing his minutes with someone else. The guy is a pure professional, through and through.
I think he was talking about Scola's offensive rebounding, which I have noticed to be slipping a bit, but I'm not sure. I have not listened to the actual podcast.
He hasn't been getting as many tip ins and offensive put backs as normal I think thats what he meant For Scola at least
thanks, just wanted to make sure. In my opinion i think scola has been the most consistent player this season. even if he not getting double digit points every game. but we know what we are gonna get out of him everytime he steps on the court: hustle every play and play with passion. and i cant say that about any of our other players, maybe Artest
Scola's offense rebounding has been down a bit.....but a lot of that is because he is at the high post.....he should crash the boards more though. DD
I think Scola has been down just a bit but I don't think it's something to be concerned about. Scola is pretty consistent. Just gets stupid fouls sometimes.
Yeh that is what he meant. He went on to say that Battier being out may be the difference because with Artest and Tmac on the floor at the same time, the ball movement and the spacing isnt nearly as good and that effects Scola more than anyone in the starting five I think.
No. Why are you so negative all the time dude? Artest doesn't isnt the BEST fit in with our starting five, but he will be perfect coming off of the bench. Its not so much that Artest doesnt know how to play team basketball or has a low bball IQ, its mainly that he is more suited to play with a group that really runs adelmans offense. A group of smaller quicker players that cut and shoot. That way, Artest can have more space to operate and less of his shots in the paint will get blocked because with 4 shooters on the floor, its not as easy to have an extra defender come over for the block.
