I guess there should be a [Chron] or [Justice] before that thread title.

Anyway, hopefully we trade Head sooner than later. While we might want McDyess, it seems almost certain that he goes back to Detroit. We'll have to settle for Mutombo for now.

You never know though... with more trades occurring, more players will be bought out. Perhaps we'd be able to get Barry last year if Yao didn't go down. There will be more good players out there for cheap.

Its been reported that McDyess no longer wants to move again this late in his career so more than likely he'll be returning to Detroit. Deke is good enough.

If dumping Francis and Head on someone meant getting Mutombo and McDyess in the fold, I'd be happy with that.

Who becomes the odd man out at PF if that were to happen? I think it has to be Hayes.

McDyess would be very nice but I'd be happy just to see Deke and Battier back. We really need to ditch Head though.

McDyess would be ok, but I really think we need a big, athletic PF/C. I know that is easier said than done and McDyess would be worth it if we can't get the ideal fit. I would love a Dwight Gooden who can rebound, score, and block shots. He might could be had since Chicago has a plethora of young Pf's that need playing time.

It is a scary thought that Mutombo is presently better than Yao. At least, Morey sees the obvious. Our stars don't look like stars, and that doesn't promise to chance any time soon, maybe won't change. Actually, it is scary and ironic that an almost 40 year old center can increase the championship hopes of this team. Being a Houston sports fan is perhaps the worse fate than can befall those interested in sports. Expectations never seem to pan out, and pleasant surprises are rare.

It doesn't. And it's not clear what his place in the depth chart would be either, if we've got Scola, Landry, Hayes, and Mutombo also on the roster.

Yeah, my understanding was that McDyess was planning to return to Detroit the whole time.

I guess, if we can sign McDyess, one of Scola and Landry will be traded for a good pg.

If we win a championship the MVP shouldn't go to Tracy or Yao but Daryl Morey.

There is no way Hayes becomes the odd man out in any situation. He is a definite keeper.
Under no circumstances do we trade Scola or Landry.

I have never in my life heard of Houston referred to as the river city. It's the Bayou City. Isn't San Antonio river city?

A washed up old PF....yep, that is what we need.

We need athletic wings, a backup center and a starting PG.....

Not another PF where we are already strong, unless he can play backup center...but I think he is the same size as Scola...right?
