if ainge trades jeff green wally sczcerbiak delonte west al jefferson theo ratliff bassy telefair and gerald green and gets back kevin garnett and ray allen...then we have a new leader in the clubhouse for executive of the year. the celtics would have a chance to win the east
Not necessarily. Considering how little we have to work with, if we end up being one of the top Western Conference teams and make it deep into the playoffs, I would say Morey still has a really good chance. On the other hand... if the Boston experiment turns out to be a flop... then their whole future is in dire straights. Just have to wait a see. The last time there was a HOF team (Lakers), it failed, so we'll see how well it works this time around.
All depends on how well the two teams do, but... yep. I agree Ainge would be leading that race. He added two top-level All-Stars for some youth, bloated contracts and scrubs.
Morey got players for almost nothing. Yeah Celtics will look good but it takes almost the whole team to get what they want. But still KG, Allen n Pierce lineup looks freakin awesome but will Allen n pierce coexist?? they dont pass!!
He's talking about the NBA Executive of the Year award. In fact, thinking about it more, I'd say Morey probably has little chance if this deal goes through ... they base these things on radical team improvement, and Morey is working with a roster that won 52 games last year while Ainge and the Celtics were a pitiful joke. The Celtics, playing in the East, can't help but improve with Allen and KG on the team.
The latest rumor in the NBA thread is they don't even have to give up Al Jefferson. If Ainge manages to pull that off and get KG without having to trade AJ, there needs to be an NBA investigation.

....which certainly isn't a bad thing by any stretch of the imagination. Both as a Rockets fan and an NBA fan.
after the big three of kg paul and ray what do they have left? answer is not a damn thing so they cannot foul out nor get hurt don't see them beating the top five in the west houston san antonio dallas phoneix utah
I think Morey STILL takes the cake with top exec for '07-'08. His moves were subtle and have very little chance to backfire without being able to put out fires. Ainge has done a remarkable job, save that he has embraced an experiment with a short shelf life. The distinction being - Ainge built an instant contender, Morey has built a lasting contender.
