Stern blocked this trade to keep ' competitive balance'. He's changed his story a couple times now but this trade was held up because Stern wanted to keep any more super teams from forming. But he can't do it. No matter how he tries to force these teams to modify this deal, there's always an out. There will be at least one more super team formed. Because Morey kept all his options open. Stern can't stop it. He's got a deadline to get this trade approved before Chris Paul and the player's union drops the hammer on him. They can't modify this trade to keep a new collection of superstars playing together.
I know you just been takin more and more crazy pills as the day goes on, but guess what, I have too. REVEAL TO US MOREY'S MASTER PLAN PRAY TELL,
I think DD is referring to if additional Rockets players and/or draft picks are part of a new deal, either with an additional team or without the Lakers sending out much more. I'd rather Paul go to LA's other team, personally.
Yep, Morey is the one who got "checkmated" and then after he tipped his King over he was drug outside and was bent over behind a dumpster. This will go down as one of the worst trades in franchise history if it goes through.
I say why not give it a little patience. Jopatmc clearly said we could end up I mean there is the possibility with Dhoward, Dwill and Nene Is that correct?
Sorry for being negative...but I think Stern is playing a chess game and will keep asking for more till either the Rockets or Lakers call off the trade...then he will save face. Either because he asking for too much or because all the good free agents are all signed to other teams.
Morey is getting worked in this deal. We are the only team coming out in a worse spot in this deal. The lakers are getting a young star to build around after Kobe, NO gets 3 starters, we get 1 unhappy all star may be able to sign Nene, then again may not. Bad trade for houston.
Lets be honest and take fandom out of it, that was a terrible deal for the hornets because it did the worse thing possible. They got rid of a superstar and got back 2 solid players,no young players, and took on salary. As constructed, that would be a 35 win team and thats not bad enough to get the kind of player you need.
My fear is that Stern will throw a hissy fit for being checkmated and subsequently never give us a good lotto pick in the draft ever again.
Bs. They could just turn around and trade both away for picks or young players this year or next. Martin and Scola are valuable pieces and thats why they are still in the second draft of the trade.
It's crazy and if there is a slight chance that would be amazing just to have the chance But just my 2 cents
Yeah , the Hornets are suddenly in the position the Rockets have been mired for the last couple years ..... out of the playoffs and at the end of the lottery. Not where you want to be at all.
Morey is not going to allow himself to be played by David Stern. He works for the Rockets. He has a plan and he is executing it.
