He turned 2 dudes buried on the bench into tax savings for Tilman and a rotation 3 & D guy that we can certainly use. I'm not delusional so I don't think he did enough to get past the Warriors this year but considering what he had to work with he did well. No, we're not gonna be the favorites to come out of the West but fully healthy we have a shot and there really aren't many teams in the league that can say that with a straight face.
We have Chris Paul and James Harden. At the end of the day, If those two are healthy, we are going to be damn near impossible to beat.
Honestly, I like the move. We needed a 3 and D and we got one of the better ones (well he’s more of a 3ish and D player). He will help on the defensive side of the ball more than anything. I’ll take him over Ennis and Green any day. Green shoots better but is sort of a sieve on D. We still could use another big like Jamychal Green but now we don’t really have the salary to do so unless we are moving Gordon. Which I doubt happens. We won’t be getting Beal for the same reason. Can’t afford it at this point.
The move he did is pretty good but not great. I'm still waiting on one more move for shooting or defensive presence BIG(6'9+)
We're undefeated against the Warriors so far in the 2018-2019 season. Thinking we're better than the team we pushed to 7 games with an injured superstar isn't delusional. We're the better team, now we just need to stay healthy. Now, if you said that we're built to beat the Warriors but not sure we're as strong against the rising league because of how we're built, I'd say you're not delusional. I'm more worried about the Blazers and Bucks this year. Those are tough outs for us. But the Warriors? The roster was assembled to beat the Warriors.
If spring training is more exciting than the second half of the rockets season I think you need to re-evaluate your life.
And he’s not done yet....was thinking of @Codman post about Boston and JB/Scary those guys contracts are small and prolly could fit into the LT savings as well.
The only player we are missing from our rotation against the Warriors last year is Trevor Ariza. I'm sorry, we can go back and forth all day about how much we really miss him, but I'm never going to buy Ariza as the difference between pushing them to 7 and suddenly having no hope. If anything our depth is much better now with Faried, Rivers (if his shot ever comes back), Shumpert and whoever else we pick up. It's just the ****ing defence. These guys just need to play better, we know they can. It's unacceptable.
Let's not get ahead of ourselves. We are trending in the right direction. I'm hopeful we can be a strong challenger to the Warriors if we can continue improving on defense.
There's a rumor that rockets want to flip shumpert for mirotic https://clutchpoints.com/rockets-ru...eate-cap-space-to-acquire-nikola-mirotic/amp/
Most people want to b**** because last year's success was the first time they tuned into the Rockets since Hakeem swept Orlando in 95. Others complain about Paul's contract without true comprehension of how/why it happened. All will be well once baseball picks back up again so the casual Rockets fans can go back and concentrate on baseball. I'm sure those people were also supporting and following them when they were losing 100+ games
I wanna see what we can get for EG. I like EG but didn't we decline his extension? He may not be as motivated to win a championship this year
