This is unbelievable. Can you imagine, knowing how close this vote is, how bad it could be when it isn't close?

The stunning bit to all of this isnt the fact that so many "alleged" transgressions occured.

Its that if even one of these transgression is true, and it turns out Bush wins the recount by lets say 1500 votes, almost assuradly that possible ONE infraction did more than enough damage to cost Gore the state.

My Wife tells me that she heard that although it is very very unlikely to happen, that the Vote in Florida could "feasably" just not be counted.

Now were not sure if this a a quick rumor, but if it is true, WOW. What could be said if they disqualify FL's vote.

And by the way, does anyone truely belive that this is the first time Police were used to influence the black vote in deep southern states? Does anyone think that Im crazy in saying I dont think so. Remember up until today, Alabama had LAWS outlawing interracial marriages.

If Florida's vote is disqualified, it merely means that Republicans in the House will vote Bush President rather than the Electoral College.

The more interesting thing would be the vote for Vice President. Who would the Seante choose? Should the 50-50 split hold up, it's not clear who would cast the deciding vote. There assumption is that Gore would be the person to cast the deciding vote for VP. Conceivably Gore could vote for himself and be the VP for another term and have a good bit of power as the guy who breaks ties in the Senate. As well as keeping himself in the public eye for another run at Bush in 2004.

Or if the Tecumseh Curse rears its head, Gore could then become President by assuming the office.

We talked about the Tecumseh Curse on here before. Supposedly Tecumseh cursed William Henry Harrison. The curse said that Harrison would die in office and then every President elected each 20 years after Harrison would die in office. William Henry Harrison was elected in 1840 and died in office. Since then every President elected in a year ending in Zero has also died while in office. Ronald Reagan was a notable exception, of coures, since he survived. But the Year Zero Curse or the Tecumseh Curse (whichever you want to call it) is still talked about.

I never knew the curse had a name, either, until recently.

Of course, the story is likely made-up well after the fact. There is no evidence that Tecumseh ever cursed Harrison. And if he did, it is extremely unlikely that Tecumseh would curse Harrison as president since Tecumseh died a long, long time before Harrison even ran for President.
