It's Jedi Justin N SYNC star JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE and his boy band pals are to hit the big screen as Jedi knights in the new Star Wars movie. All five members of the group ? Justin, LANCE BASS, JC CHASEZ, CHRIS KIRKPATRICK and JOEY FATONE ? appear in a battle scene in Episode II: Attack Of The Clones. But unfortunately for fans they are all bumped off within seconds by savage androids. The boys got involved because producer GEORGE LUCAS?s 13-year-old daughter Katie is a fan of the band and badgered her dad to give them a role. A film source said: ?All of them play Jedi knights in an arena battle on a planet called Geonosis. ?They are only seen for half a second in the background getting blown up by droids. There is then a short, blurry shot of N Sync dying. ?It?s a blink-and-you?ll-miss-it scene but getting all the lads involved in the movie should pull in N Sync fans. ?The lads are all interested in films and when George asked them to take part they leapt at the chance.? The film is not the band?s first go at acting but it is their first appearance together. Lance and Joey were in comedy On The Line and Justin plays ELTON JOHN from the 1970s in Elt?s video for his single This Train Don?t Stop There Anymore. The Star Wars film is set to open here on May 16. Saw this at [H]ard|OCP accompanied by the following quote: ?It?s a blink-and-you?ll-miss-it scene but getting all the lads involved in the movie should pull in N Sync fans." ...their deaths should bring in a lot of anti-N'SYNC peeps too
That has to be the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. If this is true then Episode II's stock just dropped with me.
Yeah, I found out about this yesterday. I think Lucas has been permanently "out to lunch" since ROTJ. So, to recount: LOTR has Ian McKellan and Christopher Lee (not to mention Elijah Wood, Ian Holm, and Cate Blanchett). SW:EP2 has... N'Sync. The score: LOTR - 1 SW - 0
I haven't been able to find anything on any SW insider sites to confirm this. The Sun isn't the most reliable of news sites.....from what I know, anyway. If true, then this just sucks. Lucas is killing my fondest childhood memories.
Exactly. I'm not that upset about it since they allegedly will be immediately killed. As long as they don't have any lines or in depth scenes, it's fine with me. Maybe he could give the Backstreet Boys and 98 Degrees parts in the battle too and they can all be wiped out!!!
android clone: Die jedi scum n'stinc: bye, bye, bye (ZZZzzzzzzzzaaappp!) n'stinc: Gone! Baby we're gone.
Here's one thing that pisses me off: I collect action figures, especially Star Wars action figures. My collection is as large and as complete as I can afford at this point in time. Kenner/Hasbro knows full-well how rabid Star Wars collectors can be, and as a result they make every character to appear in those movies into a plastic likeness. I now have to buy N"Sync figures if I am to keep with my with my desire to get one of everything. I'll be damned if that ever happens.
Johnny Rocket -- haha -- wise guy. I was referring to the fact that Star Wars being the marketing machine that it is, the Star Wars action figures done in the likeness of the characters played by those N'Sync homos will be made, and I won't buy them. I care because as a fan, George Lucas took something special to me (one of my earliest memories in life was seeing Star Wars in 1977, when I was 2 years old) and made a joke out of it in Episode I, and if this N'Sync thing is true, then its even more of a joke. Whether they have starring roles or not is irrevelant. Jar Jar Binks was bad enough. Now I'll have to endure a bunch of squealing 12 year old girls when I go to see the movie. Squealing kids are bad enough. Squealing kids who are N'Sync fans are even worse.
I'm with RocketsPimp. I would be extremely, extremely, extremely upset if it weren't such a trivial, yet fittingly appropriate detail. Still, my respect for Lucas went way down after Episode I. If he continues to attempt pleasing his daughter's age group with Episode II, I'm going to boycott Episode III.
Well sh*t. Here is is, from www.theforce.net : Lucasfilm confirms 'NSYNC in Episode II Wed, Jan 02, 02 04:34:45 PM EST Let the bloodletting begin. TFN was the first to report on this rumor on December 17th, now it is confirmed. MTV reports the following: A few of the 'NSYNC guys will appear in "Star Wars - Episode II: Attack of the Clones," according to a spokesperson from Lucasfilm. The spokesperson didn't know specifically which members have cameos in the movie, which will be the fifth "Star Wars" release from creator George Lucas. The guys will be seen for a fleeting moment in a "big scene with lots of extras." The roles materialized after the group members, who are all fans of the sci-fi saga, asked the new film's producer, Rick McCallum, for bit parts. Thanks a lot, George.
Hey George, I can assure you I'm a much bigger fan than those dweebs. How about giving me a bit part, huh? Thanks a lot, 'Daddy.'
That is pretty stupid if it's true. Either way from what I've read Ep II will be pretty good, I just hope that the newest kids on the block aren't noticeable unless you REALLY and I mean REEEAALLY have to search for them.
