http://espn.go.com/nba/draft2001/s/2001/0628/1220094.html They rank the winners, questionables and losers in the draft. The Rockets didn't make it into any category. Somehow, New Jersey and San Antonio (San An-Freaking-Tonio??????), Detroit and Denver (???) were "winners" and Houston didn't rank. Thats a damn shame. Houston had by far the best draft last night. We got the best player in the first round and the best player in the second round. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, Charles Woodson, and Eddie Griffin fan club.
We had by far the best draft last night. It's not really debatable. But, I've learned something from this draft: you need one of these things to get attention: a) draft a high school player b) trade for someone picked near #1 (average Joe may not know that Eddie is best in draft, just that he went #7, which isn't as exciting) c) be in a big market If you don't have at least one, and preferably two, of these scenarios going for you, you better be prepared to be shunned by the national media when it comes to basketball. ------------------ EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE!!! Dont worry we got an A or A- in the grades. I think Jack Ramsey did the winners/losers, I dont waste my time with people that old thanks to Hubie Brown. [This message has been edited by Ziggy (edited June 28, 2001).]
At least David Aldridge gave us some props: Houston: Getting one potentially great player in Eddie Griffin beats three okay first-rounders any day. ------------------ Things do not change; we change. - Henry David Thoreau
Another thing I was watching NBA.COM TV today during the NBA Beat a show (a show where they have reporters and other people on the show and people call in a ask them questions) and a writer of ESPN the magazine was asked about the trade between the rocks and nets and he spent the whole time talking about what a bad move for the nets and never even said a word about Houston ------------------ Agent
