Moochie Norris is now playing with Knicks. And with 7:00 minutes to go in the game he has 9 assists.

What does that say about the rockets when Francis and Norris together usually dont have 9 assists?

Although he is shooting 2-8. ;)

    Was thinking the same.

I think the main difference is that when Mooch was here, either the best or the second best scorer were always out. While in NY, he's subbing for Ward, who is the worst scorer in their line-up.

Van Horn and Allan Houston alone could rack up more assists for a PG than Mobley, Yao, Steve and MoT combined. It's just their style.

The answer is that he could make assists but didnt because it would have shown Steve up as a poor Play Maker.

He could have a 20 assist game and I still would not want him on this team. He wont have 9 assist for another 2 or 3 months. We will get to see him play this week and i bet he has a horrible game with at least 4 turnovers.

He was still dribbling too much, plus his defense is horrible, Kidds completely light him up at the fourth QT and got season high in this game.

Yes, I watched that game on TV. Some of those assists were handed out easily. Moochie shot 3-10 FG while C. Ward shot 6-11. But the important stat was C. Ward hand over a small lead to Moochie, who handed that back to Ward with small trailing in the fourth quarter. New York never led again since then.

It happened two games in a row, I suspect Moochie costed New York another game whatever way you look at that.

    :(

That's right. His defense was horrible. Intially Kidd did not shoot well. But with Moochie, you know what happened... :(

Are you guys so used to bashing Mooch that yall can't even praise him for his 9 assists? Just be happy for Mooch.
He's not here anymore so his overdribbling/TOs/defense aren't hurting us anymore; he's NY's problem now.

If Moochie goes on do play well for New York, I will not fault the Rockets for making the trade. It just had to be done. He was a good guy, but I think he was just not prospering with this team. From the quotes of Van Gundy, Weatherspoon is a bruiser. I think he'll be playing SF minutes if he's able. Van Gundy will probably have him play off the quicker small forwards, but Weatherspoon might be able to give the rebounding that allows the guards to get out on fastbreaks.

It's a funny thing about stat lines. You'd think with the 9 assists, Moochie would be making the lead go up. I look at Wilk's stat line against the Jazz. It looked pretty irrelevant, but I remember him coming into the game along with Yao. The Rockets basically gained control of the game during Wilks' time on the court. Of course, Yao had a hand in getting the lead up. I believe that players who who play with a passer know they will get the ball if they get in position. This may motivate them to be more active on the court.

yeah, because he was pushing the tempo up. when he got the inbound pass, he was actually running to the other side and passed it to his teammate for an easy layup.

Moochie has the potential to have a lot of assists. The Rockets were never set up to use his speed. I don’t know how many times I saw Moochie push the ball up court only to have him wait for the other Rockets. The Rockets absolutely do not know how to run the fast break. With the right team, Moochie could be a pretty good backup. Moochie might do well with the Knicks.

Moochie has been RACKING up tons of assists here in Houston the last 2 games.....

His not being here has assisted the Rockets in winning those games.

    Thanks Mooch !!

You really do not like Steve do you.

You probably think it was Steve behind the grassy knoll.

You guys could not be more wrong about Yetti, he is a true Rocket fan that calls it like he sees it.

Not a fan of any one player, but a team fan....and he has my respect for it.
