http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=220327028 Eric Montross is starting over Dream, how far the mighty have fallen. The Raptors are making a late push for the playoffs, we might score that pick yet. DaDakota
Amazing how he can go from the leader of a team nearly bound for the playoffs to sitting behind Eric Montross.
Funny, they had almost the same stats for the night, and Dream played 8 minutes compared to Montross' 23. Tee hee!!!!
Yeah, I posted this a while ago (in a thread, not a new one). But, DaDa, it is actually Montross and Clark over Dream - he is third string now.
Damn...and I thought that maybe there was a chance that Toronto snuck into the playoffs since they are only 2 1/2 games out
Get real. Lenny Wilkens is one of the most respected coaches in all of basketball. His only moronic act was trying to get something out of Olajuwon that just wasn't there. Keon Clark should have been starting all season. Take off the Hakeem colored glasses and you will see that he is simply not the player he once was. End of story (and career.)
Behad, Hakeem was awesome last year; he led us to 45 wins. It's this year that he has started to suck.
Correction, he was one of the greatest coaches of all time. The lousy job he has done with the Raptors overall is proof of his current incompetence. Hakeem was still putting up a solid 8-7 before Wilkins made this ridiculous change. Just his presence on the court helps, and he has hit several game winners this year. Wilkins is doing an awful job, it's as simple as that.
I didn't say greatest, I said most respected. You don't become a moron for having a bad season. His Olajuwon expiriment failed, and Wilkens waited too long to realize it. Geez, ZRB, I bet you would call someone a moron for not understanding Olajuwon's speech patterns.
Nope. If he was smart Dream would have been coming off the bench sooner then this! As far as Dream's "presence" helping, if all they needed was that they wouldn't have lost like 17 games row to begin with!
Actually, Clark was starting before Wilkins made this change. Hakeem's numbers in January were 7.3 and 5.3. In an injury filled February, 2 and 2.5 and finally, in March 5.5 and 5.8. Keep in mind that Montross has only been starting for about the last week. In his last 4 games (when getting 10 or more minutes) Montross has put up 4.25 and 5 in 15 mpg. Combine them both and you have "solid" numbers. Clark, of course, has been outplaying them both.
