Its finally done. The Habs and Centre Molson have been sold to a Colorado businessman, George Gillett. Slam Sports article Hopefuly, the new ownership will improve the Habs on and off the ice. Its important to note that there is a clause in the contract that explicitly and clearly states that Mr. Gillette will not move the team south of the border. Of course, there is no way that the NHL would move one of the most storied franchises in all of sports out of hockey-mad Montreal. It might as well close shop if it did. Molson still does own 20% of the franchise. Let's hope Les Habitants can regain some of their past glory. I don't care who owns the Habs just as long as they don't move. The fact that an American now owns the Habs puzzles the people in Montreal. ------------------ North Star Minnesota Stadium Advocate
