I remember that Monta wanted a trade if they drafted another PG... After drafting Curry, I wonder if he is still demanding that trade. I think he is the one we need to target honestly. Can it be done? Is it worth it?

I'm sure he's available given how horrendous he's looked since signing that big extension. The problem is he's a tweener and how good would he be in an organized, halfcourt offense?

How horrendous has he looked? He was injured, sure, but when he came back, he still put up 19 ppg on 45% shooting, 4.3 rpg and 3.7 apg. No, not as good as the previous year, but still pretty good.

I think he may have some mental issues considering how the whole injury thing went down, but he still is a fairly effective scorer.

He was missing something. Whether it's that he wasn't 100%, desperately needs to play off the ball or both. He just looked different to me. "Horrendous" may have been too strong of a word but I don't like Ellis' style outside of run-and-gun team like GS.

Fair enough. I agree he would be less effective on nearly every other team in the league, and even on the team he is on, he's more effective when that team is better (i.e. - have a healthy Baron Davis playing along side of him). And it's not clear he was ever 100% healthy.

But all things considered, he was nonetheless a very effective player. It's hard to discount the guy's amazing athleticism that let's him score so effectively. For comparison sake, he still shot 5% points better than AB, scored more, rebounded more and assisted more (though also had more turnovers). He gets paid a lot more, though, which is the real issue.

Word out here in SF is that GSW and Monte have mended fences, and he's no longer on the block.

I'll pretend you didn't say that.

Ellis seems like a drama queen anyways.

Is he still considered the fast player in the league since Brooks hit Mach 1 in the playoffs.

I believe at this point we need size and athleticism more than a tweener.

No doubt about it. I'm puzzled as to why they would want to trade him. The only thing I can think of is to get a SG/SF while matching any offer that Milsap gets, even if it means going over the LT.
He won't be coming here,no need to be concerned about that.

He would be terrible. He is not a point guard and he is small for Shooting Guard. I can't even begin to imagine him in Adelman's system. He is a ball dominator like Marbury and Jameer Nelson.
