Who would Dallas deal to get either of these guys. No way Dirk or Kidd gets dealt and i doubt GSW take either Marion or Terry? Can't see this happening. It looks like a pretty spontaneous article so i wouldnt take it too seriously.

Although, I would take Ellis in a heartbeat. Would have to give Scola or Landry and Brooks or Lowry and then throw in probably Cook/Barry to match salaries. Id do it.

Ellis and Jax would be a handy and exciting package.

I wouldnt mind getting either of them, but we wouldnt be able to pony up what the Mavs probably can.

Man, it sucks that the Mavs are powering up their offense/defense and we haven't improved at the C spot (Anderson is a stop gap), SG and PG. Ellis and SJax would fit nicely in the starting role on our team, but we would have to give up a lot.

Morey can pull it off.....I BELIEVE!

What could the Mavs offer that would interest GS? Josh Howard is the only guy I can see the Warriors being interested in and if they cant find someone to take Stephen Jackson's contract than there is too big of a log jam at the 2/3 in GS for them to take on Howard. A third team would have to be involved if Dallas deals with Golden State IMO.

    Dampier's non-guaranteed contract?

Though, I doubt Dallas trades him since they don't have any serviceable center without him. (Of course, they could go small ball with Dirk at the center.)

Neliie is just an idiot. Ellis is overrated but he is one of the few good players that team has left. He seems to hate everyone

T-Mac for Jackson and Ellis would work. Any trade only for Ellis would have to include Battier, which I don't suggest. Cook, Barry, and White for Jackson would be a decent trade for us.

I think Dallas is fine the way they are right now. As it stands, I think they're a 55-60 win club with the group that they currently have. I don't really see the need to add Ellis -- of course, you have to at least listen to what GS is offering in such a deal.

If I were Dallas I would stand pat and see how things play out. Worst case scenario they have the pieces (Howard's huge expiring deal + whatever) to make some noise at the trade deadline.

why is it that every time there is a trade or potential trade in the NBA, someone comes in here and makes some kind of value you judgment on the Morey.

"W T F"... really? Is the concept of Mavs taking on another bloated contract so outside your belief system that it merits an abbreviated vulgarity when you find out that the Rockets might not be involved?

They already have a pretty good/young C combination. GS wouldn't do that even for the salary dump.

Quick Question - Lets say Cuban wanted Ellis but the Mavs couldn't work out a deal with GS. Could he then offer "Player A" for Ellis and throw in enough cash to match salaries?

I wonder if Ellis can play the 2 very well. Morey needs to consider adding these guys for cheap if he can...

Don Nelson will NOT do any favors for the Mavs. I would be astonished if he gave them Monta...

The Mavs and Spurs are loading up with talent; the Rockets are currently the odd team out in the Texas triangle. Opps, I almost forgot, we got Pops! Scary.

Ellis is a blur on the court. I can't even imagine him teamed with Brooks in the back court.

Reduces Rockets team salary by $4.19M. Possibly Rockets get under LT or are in strking distance. Biggest downside is committing to an extra $71M of future salary.

    McGrady + Cook for Ellis + Jackson + Wright + $3M

Rockets reduce their payroll by $5.02M. Wright is is perpetually in Nellie's doghouse or is a bust, so Warriors might not miss him.

    Ellis, Brooks, Lowry
    Ariza, Barry, Taylor
    Battier, Jackson, Budinger
    Scola, Landry, Dorsey
    Andersen, Hayes, Yao

A further $1.26M added to the Rockets LT. $8.5M to the payroll during 2010 FA.

Rockets are only cutting $927K there. The Rockets would be taking on $71M of future salary. I doubt they'd gift them Brooks for Claxton as a throw in as well.

I dont really care if the Mavs. somehow got there hands on Jackson as long as the Rockets can get there hands Monta Ellis and Brandan Wright......Both of those guys have potential All-Stars written all over them :D
