The blonde lady was not very eloquent, but I also don't see any reason to vilify her. Are you implying she is racist or something?

The other lady was clearly "interrogating" her and trying to show her up, to some extent. But she was also much more eloquent than the blonde lady, and clearly better prepared. She also wasn't overly aggressive, and made her case well.

I thought this conversation was respectful enough from both sides.

Where do u get that I’m implying she’s a racist? I’m not even vilifying her. I posted it because it was a respectful conversation that attempted to gain understanding and wasn’t some crazy lady screaming as is typically seen.

The other woman wasn’t interrogating or trying to show her up either. If u have an issue with something, u should be able to say what that something is and why it’s an issue for u. U can’t say u have a problem with a program, but don’t even know what that program is actually doing.

I'm just trying to understand what you took from the video, because you posted it without comment. The video itself says "when they say the quiet part out loud" (which implies that someone got "unmasked" as being racist).

All I could hear from her was that she doesn't want her children to be made to feel bad just because they are not black. And I understand that the legitimate counter-argument is that black children have been made to feel bad because they are black.

I fully understand the sentiment of both parents in this case. I guess a calm conversation should be had about what needs to be done to address historic injustice without creating new injustice.

Sneaking a camera into meetings where people want to express their views in a private setting is pretty messed up. People are going to be less inclined to expresss s their view if they are going to televised all over the internet

regardless of what someone says I hope this trend goes away

my takeaways were that it was nice to see 2 people having a respectful conversation on a polarizing topic without throwing out names or labels or getting heated, and also that teaching black history doesn’t mean that you’re attacking white people or attempting to make kids feel bad about themselves…if we’re gonna teach American history, we should teach the full history…black people have made many contributions to this country that just get glossed over or ignored
