MOJO NIXON ANNOUNCES COMEBACK TOUR IN SUPPORT OF
KINKY FRIEDMAN FOR GOVERNOR OF TEXAS

—NIXON TO PERFORM APRIL 13, 14 and 15 IN AUSTIN, DALLAS AND HOUSTON— —SHOWS TO BE “OFFICIAL KINKY SIGNING STATIONS”—

AUSTIN, TX- March 17, 2006—Exactly two years to the day after performing what was called “his final performance” of his 20 year career Mojo Nixon has announced his comeback tour consisting of a handful of Texas dates in support of Kinky Friedman’s growing campaign for the Texas governorship.

In the 2004 press release announcing his retirement Nixon was quoted as saying “I have nothing more to say. I am done.”

Exactly two years later Mojo has found something important to say, “Putting Kinky Friedman, a true American original, in the Texas Governor’s mansion can save us all from the greedheads and simpletons. I felt the need to do whatever I could to achieve this goal. And if dragging my ass out of retirement helps get Kinky on the ballot then consider my ass dragged.”

Mojo Nixon and The Toadliquors will be performing in Austin, Dallas and Houston with Chicago band, The Goldstars in support. Each show will be an Official Kinky Signing Station manned by campaign volunteers collecting signatures on petitions to add Kinky Friedman’s name to the ballot for Texas Governor Election in November.

Getting Kinky Friedman’s name added to the ballot requires 45,540 signatures from registered Texas voters who did not vote in the recent primaries. These 45,540 signatures need to be delivered to the state by May 11 with all voter status verified by the campaign workers collecting the signatures. Those attending the Mojo Nixon and The Toadliquors shows are asked to bring their voter registration cards to the shows.

“Anger is a great motivator” hollers Nixon. “When I heard someone call Kinky’s run for Governor a joke it really pissed me off. Kinky is a not a joke. Kinky is a humorist. The Republicans and Democrats are the joke. I’m sick and tired of people not having a real choice. Kinky Friedman is the last great Lone Star in a sea of mendacity.”

Nixon has been a radio personality on Sirius Satellite radio since his retirement from live touring. Hosting a program on Outlaw Country Channel 63 six days a week that includes several Kinky Friedman songs in the playlist. Nixon also hosts a weekly political review show on Sirius Stars Channel 104 called “Lying **********s.”

“I keep my eye on politics for my talk show” says Nixon. “And any fool can see the populist groundswell building for Kinky Friedman. The momentum is building for Kinky to be the potentate of the State of Texas amongst the forgotten demographic of the smart, crazy hellraisers unafraid to have a little fun. America was founded by lunatic risk takers and it is about time one of them ran it’s biggest state.”

Nixon’s musical career from 1984-2004 included more than a dozen albums, thousands of live performances around the world, several bad movie parts, dozens of television appearances, censorship from Hustler Magazine, MTV and several record distributors plus a series of death threats from an angry Don Henley fan. Nixon recently rerecorded his best known song “Elvis Is Everywhere” at Top Hat Recording in South Austin with updated lyrics called “Kinky Is Everywhere” that will be distributed free at the upcoming gigs.

“I thought I was content in my retirement”, says Nixon. “But the raw power of loud fast drunk roots rock for the fornication nation is calling me back to help my buddy shock the nation and freak Texas out onto the path of redemption”.

    You can't kill me
    I will not die
    Not now not ever
    No never
I'm gonna live a long, long time
    My soul raves on forever
(Ya know, there's people out there who want to ban books
they want to ban my records
they want to tell me what I can drink
    and where I can drink....
And a bunch of p*ssed off people
pontificating about the evils of rules and regulations
    McDonalds, politics, etc.)
You can shoot my body full of holes
but you can't kill the spirit of rock 'n roll
