Doubtful that you'll find that in Houston. The closest place I know of is College Station. Go to xbox-scene.com and maybe someone there can help you.
You load some software onto your system using a special adapter that was designed for Phantasy Star Online, and then access it through a hole in MechAssault. I think you may be able to find more detailed info on kevinrose.com, but you will have to snoop around. EDIT: It is about 2/3 of the way down the page, here.
I wouldn't think talk of just modifying a system would be illegal, even though it's generally used for piracy, alot of people use them to play games from other regions as well as other interesting things not necessarilly intended by the manufacturer. It's your hardware! Do what you want with it! It's a great way to learn.
wow... no kidding? craaazy... but i thought one of the points of getting a mod chip was that you also can get a bigger hard drive. is the hard drive that comes with the xbox big enough to back up your games? btw... i think you are right about the trebuchet thing.
The harddrive that comes with an XBOX is either 8 or 10 GB. Now...for ALL of your modchip questions...I'm telling you...go to THIS WEBSITE...It's the best
You can store most of your games off of your xbox and load them in as you need them, if in fact you can't just replace the harddrive. I haven't done it, so I am not sure.
Most games will average between 2-5 GB. You wont be able to back-up many games with the 8 GB HD that you have to start out with.
