The following are the players each website has us taking.

collegehoopnet.com .......Joey Graham SF OK ST
    nbadraft.net........Rudy Fernandez SG Spain
    justbball.com........Randolph Morris C Kentucky
    nbawire.com.....Tiaggo Splitter PF Brazil
    ***********.com.....Wayne Simien PF Kansas
    probasketball.about.com.....Ike Diogu PF Az. St

These are just a few of the Mock drafts I have looked at. Graham would be nice, as would Simien and Diogu. Im not so sure about the other guys because they are foreigners (except for Morris). Should be interesting this off-season to see what JVG and CD have planned....I know JVG said a trade before the draft would help clear the picture up for the draft.

I know these Mock Drafts are guys opinion, but its something to guage. Then again, these guys could be way off...haha.

Well they did work out Joey Graham.

Not many think he will still be around when we pick though.

I'm actually trusting the Rockets on this one. They did a great job patching together a supporting cast -- and barring the late season injury to Howard that basically left us without a competent power forward I'm convinced we would have beaten Dallas.

My hope is for a 4 that can rebound and play defense.

Not to get too picky, but he said an early trade would clear up the picture for free agency.

I'm pretty pessimistic about this draft. Dawson's drafts tend to be pretty horrible, the Yao pick being the lone exception. And JVG never had much success at NY. That, plus the fact that we draft at #24, means it's a long shot the player will pan out.

I just read where Hoopshype.com has us taking at #24:

    http://www.hoopshype.com/draft.htm

Channing Frye 6-11 250 PF Arizona / Senior
Agile and powerful. A deft passer with good hands, he makes use of his skills inside, yet can step out to hit a mid-range jumper.
    Comparison: - Stats: 15.8 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.3 bpg, 55.4 FG%
Rookie season salary*: $782,900 Ranking: 10th Power Forward / 5th Senior

Yes hes going in the top 10 for sure unless its saying that were gonna trade up thats foolish talk. My vote goes to Andray Blatche out of High School and sign a vet PF with the MLE. http://nbadraft.net/profiles/andrayblatche.asp

He will definitely be way gone before we pick.

I watched him play in an all-star game, "Got Milk" I believe, and I agree with you. Of course, I'm no professional scout, but his game and agility for an 18 year old seven footer, was remarkable. Could play toward the basket, can motor, can shoot 12-15 footers IIRC, and was not afraid to go inside on 'O' or 'D'.

Considering most of the time we would get lower or no picks (15+), that are usually a crapshot anyways, I say he's done ok. Not great, but ok. 2 major mistakes that everyone comes back to are letting Rashad go and getting EG. Now while that's bad, the Rashad one we did Dickerson (major part of the Francis trade) and Cat, so while there was some major mistakes, it wasn't a bad draft. Then there's the EG, well, uh, .... MJ drafted Kwame Brown :diverting attention:

So while he hasn't done great he hasn't being horrible, especially with low pickups like Kenny Thomas in the mix. I can name quite a few more screwup in my head over the span of the past few years.

I think the fact that these mock drafts each show a different player demonstrates what a mockery of reality they really are.

A lot of mock drafts do not take into account "team need". They just rank the players.

Tomorrow after the lottery draw the mock drafts will begin to make more sense. Right now it more-or-less just ranking the players and lining them up with the finishing order of the teams. After the real picking order is decided then 'they' can begin to line up real picks and needs with real players. It is still a crap shoot because there are all sorts of agendas and team personalities involved. It's still more fun to play with mock drafts than baseball!

    I want a PF...

...but if Joey Graham fell to us, I'd giggle like a school girl. He's Bonzi Wells with a better attitude.

I think they did the right thing at the time.
I mean, who knew he'd have so many personal problems?!
Now that he's turned his life around in Minn, he'd be a very good fit in this team.

i don't think we will draft a PF.

i think graham is our first choice right now but he might be gone before we pick. garcia, fernandez, and gelabel are all options.

I tend to think that we will draft a PF and look for a SG in free agency, unless we pull off a major trade and then we could be looking at a PG.

That said, Simien would fit in.

Same here, except I'd prefer Turiaf. He seems NBA readier and a safer pick(bigger and less injury prone).
I think the work outs bother these guys will have will give us a better opinion on them.
