Well, this is where Caserio has to make a decision based on the franchise's future and not the current Coach's scheme. Best player should be the choice. The way this season is going, I'd be surprised if we stick with Lovie for a second season and I like Lovie.

I like him too but we must move on and there is one man in particular…

Demeco Ryans…he can fix this defense and get the fans excited and back again.

I'm drafting Carter and a DE in the 2nd.

Give me Johnston or Washington, preferably after a trade down.

San Francisco hasn't been a great defense this season and they have a lot of talent to work with.

Demeco sued the McNair's. He is never going to be the HC of the Texans. Not that he would want to be.

I don't get all of the Demeco love around here. Might as well make AJ,AF,Watt the HC, or better yet Schaub. Lol we

He actually sued the NFL and the company that makes the field at NRG and the Texans happened to be collateral damage.

And he’s done wonders with that defense over the last couple of years

Has he done better than Saleh did?

No chance he becomes the next HC of the Texans.

He will be a HC soon but I agree there is no way Tommy Boy hires him after that lawsuit. Would be shocked if he did.

Demeco isn't coming here -- no chance. Here's my thought:

    1. Use both 2023 first rounders on defense (there's isn't a Patrick Mahomes/Josh Allen QB in this draft class... worst thing you can do is use a top end first round pick on a QB that isn't great... then you are stuck in Daniel Jones, Josh Fields, Baker Mayfield territory)
    2. Bring in a free agent WR
    3. Hire an offensive genius to coach the team

What? Niners defense has been very good outside of the Chiefs game. And they’ve had a ton of injuries.

Just get Bryce young.. I’ll take what he’s got between the ears over being 6-3” any day. Also I think it would be cool to reunite him with Metchie. Not to mention how much easier it would be for Metchie to get right up to speed than having Young throwing to him. If he can be drew brees/Russel Wilson (not the running just the eluding) then we’re off. But we need a smart qb more than a physically talented qb.

other than that, depending where the picks lineup, I would take Will Anderson and Will Levis I think. But I’m sure we’ll all change our minds 50 times between now and draft.

That doesn't mean hiring him as the HC

If they have to draft a QB this year, I'm hoping it's Young.

They weren't good against Atlanta either.

Two out of seven games? I’ll take that. They’re the third ranked defense.

The last 2 games, I haven't looked at their entire schedule.

Right now I would draft Bryce Young with the Texans pick (assuming Stroud goes to Detroit). If Anderson or Murphy are there at the Cleveland pick then I select them in that order. If theyre gone its a trade down for Foskey or Tyree Wilson and an extra second. In the second I want either Gervon Dexter or Siaki Ika to compliment the pass rusher selected in round 1. From there I add another O-lineman or 2 (IOL and a guy to groom to replace Tunsil or Howard). The rest of the draft would be devoted to defense and special teams.

    He's my 2023 mock draft 1.0

Rd. 1 1-2 Jalen Carter DT Georgia
Rd.1 1-10 Quentin Johnston WR TCU
    Rd.2 Darnell Washington TE Georgia
Rd.3 K.J. Henry DE Clemson, Edge Clemson
Rd.3 Devon Achane RB Texas A&M
Rd.3 From Cooks trade Ricky Stromberg C Arkansas.
    Rd.4 Chris Rodriguez RB Kentucky
Rd. 4 Trade 5th/6th/7th Robert Beal, Edge Georgia
    Rd,6 Kendall Smith S Illinois
    Rd.6 Nathaniel Dell WR Houston

Speed and fixing the DL in one draft

    Thoughts?
