Any feedback, good or bad, is welcome. #4--I think the Bulls will draft Gasol because maybe the Jerry's see him as the next Toni Kukoc and we all know how much they liked Kukoc (and every other foreigner). #5--Kwame Brown fell because he has yet to work out with a team and scouts feel he lacks confidence so that hurts his draft value. #11--I think Murphy can play center in the East. Similar to Raef LaFrentz. Plus he played for the Fightin' Irish in college, it's only fitting that he'd be a Celtic in the pros. #14--Cook's value has risen and the Warriors need a PG more than anything else. #16--Chandler fell this low because he has been abused by everyone he has played against from Cisse to Hunter to myself (well, no not really) but I can't see a lottery team taking the risk on him. #23--The Rad Man is going to be awesome. I just hope he falls this low. We might have to pick him at #18 and pick whatever is left from the center crop at #23. #24--I'm not sure if Arenas is going to be a PG in the pros. If Utah doesn't think so I could see them drafting Gardner or Phillips here. My previous pick for them was Cisse but he busted his knee. Ok, now let's here some comments. ------------------
HEYPARTNER got a pretty good point. However its like comparing someone coming out from college to someone coming out of high school and i think they are basing GASOL on mostly potential with height and skills. Radmanovic is just more ready towards NBA now, strength and competition in hand, but that doesn't mean GASOL won't be better the year after this year. ------------------
I think Rudy might draft Hunter over Haywood at 18. ------------------ President of the Steve Francis, Jamal Crawford,Larry Hughes, and Charles Woodson fan club.
Hunter has good upside, but I think the Rockets are more likely to pick the more experienced Haywood despite his deficiencies. ------------------
Your draft could be right. However i don't see Chandler dropping that much and Diop picked that early. Chandler has immense potential and that beats out Diops raw ability......when have we ever seen a one dimensional player get drafted that high before, no matter what statute or athletic ability? I personally like Troy Murphy, but i don't think he will be a center in the NBA thus it would be better for boston to pick Randolph or Woods, give them some inner presence....... 23rd Rockets wont get Radmanovic.....because there is no way Boston will let him slip by 21st and seriously if workout goes well, he may even go 10 or 11 even to compensate for the lose of GASOL. ------------------
Let's not forget Radman is playing in THE BEST leagues in Europe. Gasol's league is not close. It is like comparing the ACC to SWC (if not Division II), imo. [This message has been edited by heypartner (edited June 11, 2001).]
Pau Gasol plays for one of the best teams in Europe in one of the best leagues and he played in one of the 2 Euroleagues, in which he scored even better than in the spanish league. The Yugoslavian league is not bad either, but spanish clubs had more success over the last years in the european leagues than yugoslavians. By the way Frederic Weis plays for Malaga, the club that just lost in the spanish semis to Gasol`s Barcelona and averaged 4 pts. and 5.5 reb. over the season. The Knicks must be very happy about having selected him.
