ok, guys, i'm not a new user, it's swift turnaround but that name doesn't work out anymore does it??

I was thinking about mobley re-signing and everything and with his late season performance, why would he stay as a sixth man??
he can start with Sacramento if he wants, Derek A. is retiring...so he's probably gonna demamn a starting clause or something, and if he does, that means shandon and cuttino and francis all have to start, ALL GUARDS....Shandon will be the SF, and our PFs are all undersized, so we can't do that......besides, shandon plays better D.....so unless mobley is gonna come off theb bench again, it's gonna be impossible to sign him!
does anyone know about this? coz i dunno if he'd come off the bench this year......maybe THAT'S what took him so long to sign (he can't till august)......ao, again, who knows what's gonna happen here? if we pickup a Cuttino is great, but we can't start him....u think he'd settle for the 30 mins. like last year? we ddn't pick up anyone that can takeup his time.....so u think he'll be OK with coming off the bench?

    1. Because he knows he'll still get starter's minutes.
    2. He'll also make twice as much in Houston. 3. His friends are here.
    4. Sacramento (and every other team) passed over drafting him.
    5. Houston can match any offer Sacramento, or any other team except the Clippers, Bulls, or Magic make.

It's a better situation here. He knows where he fits in, he's use to the team and system. He has great chance to improve even better n familar atmosphere. I keep thinking of the players that have a good season and sign for big money else where, wher they don't really fit, and everyone boo's them for making so much for doing nothing. It's a win win situation here, and I don't think you could question Houston's loyalty....Mobley is no fluke by the way, houston wants him now and in future....

so he's probably gonna demamn a starting clause or something

This is about the third time that I've seen someone mention a "starting clause" in a players contract. There's no mention of it in the FAQ, but I'm guessing that there is no such thing. There's really tough restictions on giving a player a "no trade" clause, so a starting clause wouldn't be allowed. Seems to me that it would be classified in the same way as a team promising a player that they'll live near the ocean or that the average attendance will be at a certain level. These things have been ruled illegal. I've never ever heard of a case where a player had a starting clause in a contract.

doesn't shandon have a starting clause on his contract???
then why did we start him over cuttino EVERY game except if there were injuries and he moved to the three spot?

Because Cuttino is better suited off the bench. Some people are made to come off the bench, even if they're "better" than the starter.

it has very little to do with his defense. But, he has the ability to fill it up in a hurry. That's a perfect style for coming off the bench, because usually your bench unit doesn't have a go-to guy, and having a go to guy off the bench is a distinct advantage, and allows the starters to rest.

Shandon meanwhile, helps others get in the flow of the game, and plays superb defense, which we need to stop the Bryants, and Carters of the world. He can score a fair amount, but can't create on his own the way Mobley can.

    Mobley will resign, because of
    1. Loyalty
    2. Friendship
    3. Money
The Rockets are the team that picked cuttino with the 41st pick and gave him a chance in this league, it would be wrong for him to leave. He has become good friends with Francis, so he wont want to dis Francis and leave. And the Rocktes are one of the teams that can give Cuttino the most money.

Actually, the teams that can give Mobley the most money are the Clippers, Magic, and Bulls.

Houston can only give him a 2 year contract at about 4.1 million per year.

Two words on/for Cuttino: John Havlicek. Was he crucial or what?

Because hands down Anderson was a better player than Mobley last year. Mobley is streak shooter, Anderson was consistently one of our best ALL year. We sucked defensively all year, and were worse when Anderson was sitting. Maybe its something you just pick up only by being at the games, but Anderson is just involved in everything
Mobley appears to have greater potential, but I've said it before and I'll say it again - if we lose him its not the end of the world.

davo-It'd take you 3 seconds? Man, that's a lot? [IMG] Did you get my mail on some of the things on your page?

"Mobley steals the ball! Mobley steals the ball!"

    That'd be a great moment.

It would probably take me more than 3 seconds just to comprehend how much money it was!

Got the email. Thanks - its been updated. I allowed about $2 mil for next years draft picks(other than our own). Close enough for now.
