I'd do it, but Maggette has been the go-to guy for the Clips the past few weeks and will likely be one of the guys they actually try to re-sign this summer, so I doubt they'd go for it.
How about Mobley, Griffen, Moochie For Bobby Jackson, Hedo Turkelou and Scott Pollard Now we have: Yao Pollard Turk/Posey Francis Bobby Jackson
Pollard is the dirty work guy we need. Hustles, sets screens, plays d, rebounds. Turk is an up and comer. He has the potential to be as good as Stoj. Bobby Jackson was playing amazing PG until he got hurt. All 3 of these guys are unselfish and know their roles.
Suns won't trade Marbury for Francis. They are about equal but Marbury has already developed chemistry in Suns. No need to trade Francis. But Rudy does need to get some Vet PG to teach him how to pass, defense and control play. He has good working ethic and will be a good true PG.
Mobley is a really good player (better than Maggette) and is signed to a low dollar long term contract. He is probably the last person you want to trade, because you will never get fair value for him. The only way Mobley gets traded is with another good, but also high dollar player plus picks in return for a superstar. Mobley, Francis, and filler plus picks for Garnett, or something along those lines.
How much does Mobley make, I thought he made about $9MM a year. Is that low dollar? I'm not being sarcastic. I would like to know. If you could ge Maggatte for Mobley, I would do it in a heartbeat. You have one less guy who has to create with the ball. I'm not a big Mobley basher, but we need a guy who is A) a three point shooter for Francis or Yao to kick it out to, or B) a slasher who can score off of a pass to the basket. Mobley just commands the ball too much, and when he has it, you know he is keeping it most of the time. Do you guys remember the chemistry Hawkins developed with this team when Mobley was hurt? It is because he didn't have to dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble dribble, shoot.
$9 mil is a max contract. Mobley signed for the Early Bird exception after 2 years with the Rockets. That started his salary at around $4 mil, it should be $5-6 mil this year. You won't find a player in the league that is not on his rookie scale contract that is a better deal than Mobley.
