He's currently 5th, he's .3% behind Horry... This poll is ridiculous, he should be way higher [IMG]

the player profiles at the bottom of the page conveniently left out the fact he's the highest scoring 6th man.

now, no one jumped down my throat here...i'm just saying if he was mentioned as top scorer in the opening paragraph (rather than Horry--for godsakes) more people would vote for him.

its not so much the spelling - its the grossly faulty logic

Oh, and they are only gonna mentioon winning popular teams in those opening paragraphs, but does anyone read that anyways?

Mobley only scores, thats it. He doesnt play D and he never passes. All the other players on that list have more of an all-around game than cat.

    Trade Him!!!!

Mobes should be right at the top with Jerome Williams, McGrady, Rogers and Camby. I don't think he is the highest eligible scoring leader as HeyPard mentioned - I think C.Ceballos is averaging more - but he should be the top 5 with question. Robert Horry being mentioned is a joke, he is still a decent player but is he even the Laker's sixth man, what about Fisher and Fox? Rogers or Williams deserve the award though.

I realize that Mobley never passes BOBFINN, but I think he's actually a decent defender. I haven't really heard much talk about his defense being poor.

never passes...you weren't at the game tonight eh...How exactly do you think Cato scored 21 pts. Many passes to him, including a great game by Mobes.

great game by many sure...but when Mobes gets bashed so often, i must point out his big games. his game is changing recently. Aside from the new pull up jumper he's added...he had some awesome feeds in the lane.

Stop the stigme that Mobes doesn't pass. He passes more than Drexler ever did and Cassell as a Rocket for that matter.

I know many people need nice little pigeon-holes so they can make sense of this fast moving sport...but don't place Mobes in a pigeon-hole just yet!!!

enjoy the game...our younsters are improving. Don't pigeon-hole them just yet!!

Mobely might be a ball hog at times, but that's what the coach calls for in those sitations...instant offense..and many times he delivers. Trade Mobeley? I think that would be a big mistake because he and Francis might be the best back court in the NBA in the next few years.

The box score I saw had mobes for 4 assists. 2 of those were in garbage time and one was to wiz. Lets all jump for joy, he had a game better than his 2.6 avg. As much as he handles the ball, his penetration should produce many more easy hoops for teamates. He has not learned this aspect of the game in a year and a half! There is no I in team.
When Mobley reaches 3,000 assists, (Drexler's career totals) let me know.
I said my peace man [IMG], now I will return to my pigeon-hole.

last night was probably the most perfect game i've gone to all season, as far as offensive execution goes. Stat number one that jumps out is 10 3pt attempts. Stat number two is 12 TOs. That's indicative of how much the Rockets were getting the ball inside, and inside successfully. (Please no one say how these are unimportant games. I've got tickets for one more month...don't spoil it for me.)

Francis, Mobes and Moochie did a great job of interior passing to the big men and setting up the shooters for midrange. Thomas even had a glorious dish to Cato for a slam. Walt threw an alley-opp.

There were less than 6 ISOs ran. (And it is called Two Shakes, I heard Rudy yell it and give a shaking two-finger signal.) Only 2 went to Mobley. Few ISOs and few 3ptrs are a good sign in my book. It means we are being successful in the other facets of the game everyone's been asking for. I just want to point that out...this was a different game. And one sign of that was the different look Mobley gave. We should enjoy this, and recognize that Mobley is playing his part, instead of clinging to some Larry Hughes stereotype of Mobes.

Excuse the Drexler comment...but that is no less wrong than saying Mobes doesn't pass. You guys are "living in the past man", if you believe Mobes still runs a huge amount of 2 Shakes and doesn't pass. Catch up to April...come out of your pigeon holes.

I am as excited as you are about the way we have been playing of late. I am seeing more of a TEAM game going on. I just get frustrated at Mobes because I see the potential there. When he penetrates, the defense collapses towards him leaving many open teamates. He is improving, no doubt about that, I just wish he would hurry the hell up!!! [IMG]

have you noticed his new turnaround J from the low post...It's not part of the ISO.

Stevie is using that two. Mabye they are practicing it against each other. Do you get the feeling this team is talking about game and how they want to improve. At least we don't have guys aspiring to be in movies and do music vids.

My question isn't related to Mobes but to Francis - why have his assists surged down faster than Thomas Hamilton's protein intake? Is it because a lot of our points are made 2 or 3 touches after Stevie dishes it out? Or is because he isn't disributing the ball efficiently? I'm beginning to get worried that Franchise still has a ways to go before mastering the Point Guard position and it may take him longer than expected.

    Please tell me otherwise. [IMG]

Ever since he one the Player of the Week award, teams have been smothering him with traps. They are forcing the ball out of his hands.

The traps teams use against him are not your typical (trap stockton) types. They are exaggerated traps (double teams) to test the rest of the team's ability to execute an offense without Stevie running the play. We are just now learning to hurt the defenses when they do that. Everyone needs to help, so Steve's assists go down.

But make no mistake, Steve can make the interior pass, and he indeed looks for it. As the rest of the team starts playing well, and learning plays that don't start with Steve, the traps will go down, and thus Steve will get to run the offense more.
