hard to argue against Allen, he has been the celtics most consistent offensive player.

Yeh Im not saying im a Cavaliers fan but Mo has been consistent throughout the year and Allen went through a couple of strings of shooting slumps. Mo is putting up career numbers. I think he really deserves a spot on the roster more than Allen.

    Mo in 06-07: 17.3 ppg 4.8 rpg 6.1 apg 1.3 stls

    Mo in 07-08: 17.2 ppg 3.5 rpg 6.4 apg 1.2 stls

Mo this season: 17.1 ppg 3.3 rpg 4.2 apg 0.8 stls

Scoring about even, rebounds down, assists down, steals down. How is that "career numbers?"

Allen deserves it more than Mo, He's been the mvp for the celtics so far and he's been very clutch as well...

I figured Stern would give the nod to Williams to enhance the marketability of the Cavs. Aside from Lebron I don't think the casual fan knows that roster. When Jordan left Stern made a commitment to selling team basketball as opposed to stars.

No more Jordan vs Bird, instead we'd get Bulls vs Celtics. Oh well, so much for that.

Mo Williams isn't consistent. I know because he's on my fantasy roster. One night he will go for 20 and 6 then another he will get you 8 pts and 3 assists with 3 TOs.

Mo Williams isn't a star, and everyone knows it. He's just an above-average player. The Cavs have LeBron who is Jordanesque this year, one of the best centers in Big Z, and several players having some of their better seasons. The team plays great as a unit, both ways. Doesn't mean that Mo is that damn good.

Put him on a team without LeBron, then see if anyone considers him to be a "star." Do you think any team will ever build around him? Pay him the max?

It's funny when his name was brought up as a pg for the Rockets in the offseason, people made all kinds of excuses as to why he wasn't good, he didn't fit, and/or was too expensive. Cleveland picked him up for very little and look at all the success they're having now with him while we're still stuck with Rafer.

But you can argue against Boston and Orlando each getting three all-stars and Cleveland only getting one.

It's funny how you can see a poster's name while browsing the board and immediately guess what he/she is going to post...ad nauseum I might add...

Not when one team is so heavily reliant on one player. I think the pick of Allen is fine... although in all fairness Mo deserves it over Lewis... hes not even the Magic's third best player.

Boston wouldn't have had three if Nelson didn't get hurt. Without injuries, Orlando has 3, Boston has 2, and the Lebron's have 1.

I don't think Mo Williams deserves to make it solely because he is on a good team. But I guess you could argue the same thing about Ray Allen, although Ray has been pretty clutch.

But it's still only an average career in my opinion. I'm a little tired of hearing about Mo every time the Cavs are mentioned somewhere. He's just not that remarkable. I think he helps them more than he hurts them. That's about all I can say for him. I've seen quite a few Cavs games on League Pass and he always just seems like a journeyman guard type to me. Shrug. I am open to the fact that maybe I'm missing something, but I just don't get the Mo hype.

Allen should be there because he's the best pure shooter in the league and has supporting numbers in addition to playing for one of the league's best teams.

I don't have a problem with Ray Allen getting in. In fact, I would have picked Allen over either of the other Celtics because I think he's been their best player so far this year and he's really clutch.

I just think the league is really inconsistent about how they pick their all-stars and it's hurting Mo Williams this year. Didn't the Pistons once have four all-stars because of their great record, when by the numbers you could have made the case that non of them really belonged?

Yeah I see what you are saying. Its probably just one of those things where they put two names in a hat and pick one out. Ray Allen was apparently the lucky winner this time.
