BOSTON -- Mo Vaughn, who has three years left on his contract with the Angels, would like to return to the Boston Red Sox.

"I'm employed with the Anaheim Angels," Vaughn said on Boston radio station WEEI-AM on Tuesday. "But let's just be straight: If I had the opportunity to come back to Boston, I would."

Vaughn left Boston as a free agent in 1998 after a falling out with general manager Dan Duquette. He signed a six-year, $80 million deal with Anaheim, but he hurt his ankle in his first game with the Angels and missed the entire 2001 season after biceps surgery.

When told of Vaughn's comments, Angels general manager Bill Stoneham said: "Certainly, it's a concern when a player is talking about playing elsewhere. Obviously, we'll be talking to Mo about this. Right now we're more interested in how he's doing in his rehab program and coming to spring training in first class shape."

Just another example of Dan's greatness as a GM.

Mo will make it back to the Red Rox right about the time that Derek Bell rejoins the Astros.

I heard about this when I was watching a League Pass game of the Hornets and Celtics last night. I read though that he would have to take a pay cut to come back. He may also be wanting to come back because he thinks Duquette won't be there with the new ownership coming in.

Speaking of that game on League Pass, those announcers were absolutely horrible. Are they always that boring?

I wouldn't be able to tell you because I had the sound down and I only saw a promo for the New England Fox Sports Report and that topic appeared on the screen. I then went immediately to ESPN (couldn't find a better site that quickly) and Gammons somewhat mentioned that story. That's where I got the fact that if Mo does come back, it will have to be for less money.

Yes they are Pimp, it's a joke. I was looking at a Celtics-76ers game and they were horrible. And when they tried to show life it was obvious it was forced. I guess it didn't help that the building was a morgue, even when Boston was in the game.
