Fox 26 just had an interview with Mo Taylor about the Rockets decision on picking Yao Ming. His exact words: We're excited. We feel that our organization is building right infront of us. Actually this isnt why I really posted this, the real reason is that Mo looks to be in GREAT shape! Whatever pounds that he gained of the past months seem to be as if they were never there. Sorry I don't have a picture or anything, but I'm sure you guys can believe me.
tsk tsk tsk...without photo evidence it isnt so...please direct yourself to the rockHEAD school of stalking. that sounds great if true...MoTay is one of my favorite rockets...can't wait for him to tear it up this year.
Mo being 70 pounds overwheight was a complete rumor. I don't remember anyone having any evidence to back it up.
I'm glad to hear at least one Rocket is on board! Thanks for the update. Now about that Mo in shape thing. Did he have his shirt off? Or, how could you tell that Mo was getting in shape?
Actually, he saw it on TV, so it doesn't follow under the rockHEAD rule of stalking... Come on, red! I expect more out of a fellow MASHer!
where's PhiSlammaJamma (?) with the quote trivia. Wasn't it Maurice who said, "I am not a Center; I am not a Center; I am not a Center." You can be sure that Maurice probably wanted Ming all along.
Man, I'm starting to think all the posts about Mo being lazy were severely misguided. All I remember hearing last season is how hard he was working in the offseason. So hard, in fact, that he ended up hurting himself. And from what I've heard this offseason is he's already started working out hard and is getting back and shape. I remember how excited he was last season about drafting Eddie Griffin, and now he seems excited about Yao. From everything I've seen and heard about Mo Taylor, I think he has a great attitude. I just wish Steve felt the same way about Yao.
I saw the same interview and MoT did not look like he had an extra 70 lbs on him. He looked like he was in playing shape.
I hope you mean college playing shape. If he isn't gonna use that bulk for rebounds or defense, he might as well be quicker. Imagine if Taylor was at 250 or 240. It could actually help him if he could get off the ground quicker. Man, if Francis can avg 8 assists and Mo could get up to 7 or 8 boards, this team could be set for years.
That is great news. Remember we want to make some noise in the west next year and I would not like to be considered the little cousin of Spurs and Mavs from Texas.
He actually had his shirt on, but he looked alot diffrent from what I remeber when they had that thing of him in "Mo's Betta Bunch." Also, not that it matters, but the interview was taken at a Rocket's workout....so I'm thinking that he wasn't just laying around watching his teamates play; he is probably working out with them.
OSKI - Francis getting so many rebound is BAD news for the Rox. It means that we are still not getting the interior help that we need. When/If the Rox become contenders, Francis will get about 4 rebounds a game. He will hopefully be receiving outlet passes from Griff and Ming, to get our fast break in gear. I know Jason Kidd is proof that you can have a guard that rebounds and still be competitive. But Kidd is most effective when he gets outlets from big men. NJ is also not tough enough in the middle (but Kmart looks like he's becoming a hoss.)
Actually, Oski said that he wanted Francis to have 8 assists, and Mo Taylor to have the 7-8 rebounds; not Francis with 8 assists and 8 rebounds.
