I just listened to the Mo Taylor press conference and he sounds like a good guy, contrary to the reports I have read about him. Just a few things he said - he signed with the Rockets mainly based on Houston being the better situation for him to sign a long-term deal next year and he likes the team better than Seattle's team - he feels that he can grow with the other guys like Steve Francis, Cuttino etc. and that he thinks they can make it to the playoffs this year - talking to Steve and Cuttino helped him make his decision, he wants to "go out and hang around" with them - talking to Steve, you don't get to talk much, you only get to listen ;-) - he didn't want to get trapped into a long-term deal somewhere else because he thinks he never got a chance to show his best basketball and that he might end up better off financially if he plays his best basketball this year - he thinks playing alongside Hakeem could do wonders for him CD said that Mo Taylor gazed at the championship pictures in CD's office for a LONG time...Coach Fitch recommended Taylor to him and that meant a lot to him. CD also said that the Rockets were lucky to pick up two such good players as Shandon and Mo two years in a row.
Taylor on 610 AM. He is still only 23. And no, the huge deal gone wrong was not deciding factor for MO. He said that had the deal gone through it was not fixed that Mo was going to go to the Sonics. He was undecided. Deciding factor, he like the city of Houston more than Seattle (where it rains daily). Mo is really excited to be a rocket. And states "I'd want to be here for the rest of my career, but we'll leave that to Management and my agent" Look who's going to play hard every night for the Clippers every night. Potential risk reward is marvelous to the Rockets. And Taylor seriously considers himself raw!!! His potential is the best we've seen at Powerforward since Ralph Sampson. When Barkley got here his potential had been reached. ------------------

I think the Rockets play the Clippers in L.A. the fourth game of the season. I think Mo will have career highs in everything that night.
Something that also made a good impression in my opinion was that he did not take the chance to say negative things about the Clippers. He said that he is thankful that they gave him the chance to play in the NBA. Something funny to note: When Mo said he could only listen and didn't get to speak when he was talking to Steve, CD said he feels the same way now because he just got married .
Let's just hope Mo's not "saying all the right things". If he's truly a malcontent then we'll find out soon enough If he's not then we've done REALLY well!! ------------------
Two references to his next contract in the six press conference highlights that Det The Threat mentioned. Not a good sign! ------------------
grummet: That's because nearly everyone who spoke to him asked, "So, are you planning on being here more than one year." He didn't bring it up. Plenty of people brought it up for him. ------------------ Save Our Rockets and Comets SaveOurRockets.com
