    2. Maurice Taylor, Rockets

This guy is a scorer deluxe. He's best on the left block where he'll turn his left shoulder for a deadly jump hook, and turn right for either a bull's-eye jumper or a power-house drop step. He's also an excellent perimeter shooter off screen-roll action, and his jumper is virtually indefensible because of his long-armed release. Taylor can also square up and go right or left, spin either way, and cross over left to right.

If his defense was slightly quicker, and he didn't play with a squad full of superstars, Maurice Taylor would be a definite All-Star and a legitimate contender for the NBA scoring title

    BTW, this guy is ridiculous.

He has Garnett, Kobe, and Peja on the mentionable list for most overrated players. I don't see how he could come to this at all.

Well, well, well... looks like CD's little bribe to Fox Sports worked. This way, MoT's trade value goes that much higher. :)

Charley Rosen just amazes me sometimes. He unloaded on Zach Randolph for being lackadasical on defense and being only concerned about scoring and rebounds (Which he's right about). But then he gives Mo some major props. Dang. I wish he was the GM of some team. I'd love to trade a "contender for the NBA scoring title" in order to land a Carlos Boozer/Troy Murphy type hustle rebounder with a halfway decent jumpshot.

Oh my God! You're absolutely right! This all fits into the bigger picture of raising Mo's trade value and then trading him. First he's starting now he is the next Hakeem, i thought i was going insane, but now it all makes so much sense.

It was all infront of my eyes but i just could not see it. Once again, proof that there is a purpose for this world. And that there is a higher Being behind all of this shenanigans. And its name is Jeff van Gundy.

As much as I would like to believe he is right, I have to say the author of this article must be out of his mind.

well I think if on aother team if the offens ran thru mo ,like if he played for the bobcats,he would average a pretty high average.I see 22 or 23 a game thats just my opinion though.

I agree. If Mo were the first option, he could put up some real nice numbers. Some nights it's like no one in the NBA can stop him. Other nights, he's in foul trouble. Not many power forwards have the all around offensive game that he does.

just based on scoring, he is one of the best PF's in the league.

the problem is he can't play defense or rebound. if he was good at both he would be a POSSIBLE all star, on some other team.

either way you look at it. time to trade him while his stock is up a few.

He is basically an oversized marshmellow soft SG with no 3 point range...he is a great scorer but for the position he plays he doesn't do enouhg. Not when you have the likes of Duncan and Webber maning the 4 in the West.

Actually, your description of MoT fits perfectly for Webber.

I agree with most of what he said about Taylor, he just took it too far. If he played for a crap team like SAR did early in his career, he'd score 20+. He'd probably get mid to low 20's on Charlotte this year. Sometimes I wonder why they don't go through him more. Last year when I saw him consistently scoring on Garnett I was thoroughly impressed. Of course he's no good at rebounding or defending, but that doesn't mean he can't be an invaluable member of a team. There were games last year we would've had no chance in if he weren't there to provide the spark. I think he should be backing up Howard.
I also agree with the author about the number one overrated player, Kenyon Martin. Wasn't he like 3-23 in the game which the Spurs clinched the title?? Pathetic. And to top it off he's a punk*ss. I don't know if he's #1, but he's up there.

FYI, Mo Taylor played for the Clippers early in his career and averaged 17 a game. Prior to last year Shareef had never averaged less than 18.7 per game. With a crappy team and him as the number one scorer, maybe Mo could sniff 20 a game - BUT, nobody would care - he'd be the number one scorer on a horrible team.
