Couldn't see this posted anywhere else, but if it is, please excuse me. Rockets’ Maurice Taylor Reinstated NEW YORK, Nov. 17 -- The NBA announced today that Maurice Taylor's suspension for violating the terms of the NBA/NBPA Anti-Drug Program has been reduced from 10 games to six games, based upon an ongoing evaluation by the medical director of the Anti-Drug Program and a determination that Taylor is now in compliance with the program. He is eligible to play for the Houston Rockets in their game against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, Nov. 19. The NBA, NBA teams and the NBPA are prohibited from publicly disclosing information regarding the testing or treatment of any NBA player in the program, other than to announce a player's suspension, dismissal or reinstatement. The Houston Rockets released the following statement from Maurice Taylor: "I'm sorry that this entire situation happened. I take responsibility for my actions and recognize that it is my responsibility to make sure that a situation like this doesn't happen again. I am happy to be back on the court with my teammates."
It sounds strange to say it, but we really need him. He's been that spark off the bench that has been able to keep our team in the lead or help us catch up. Plus, I just hate watching Padgett play. He can look good with his 3's, but other PF's just abuse him in the post.
i'm very happy to have him back. we need his scoring badly. was it overturned/quashed or just re-instated? i'm curious as to whether the nba admitted a mistake in suspending him or if it's a case of "he's back on the wagon." if it was overturned, the nba admin cost us the win in toronto (i still think we would've lost to dallas)! Another Brother - i think that you will unfortuanately be correct.
Well, let me do my small part to lengthen it. This is really good news. I would like to have some faith in Mo, and the fact his suspension has been reduced goes a long way, even though he admits responsibility for the problem. Please, no more bad character incidents involving any Rockets. It's going to be hard enough to get this team to play the way Van Gundy wants.
Doesn't this sounds kinda robotic, he probably didn't even write that. Give him a year and he will be hitting the chronic again.
awesome news! we really need him back. he was playing real well out there. just wait til piakowski and a. griffin get in the rotation. maybe even..... E. Griffin one day!!! we should have a real solid team when we're healthy (amongst other things).
with this reinstatemnet, it really gives credibility to what eric riley said. mo probably popped a few extra vicodin and they just happened to show up on his drug test. no harm in that.
i supported him all the way. good to see motay vindicated! i just wish all those fake fans who just KNEW it was weed related would step forward and admit they were wrong now. but i know it won' t happen. cowards....
sweetness now all we need is pike and AG and we got ourselves a team. let the days of having only one pack up guard end please. moochie doesnt even really count as a pack up guard, at most half a guard, 3/4 if he still had the hair. many times he is the best player on the team, sadly it is the opponents team
He is still suspended for tonight's game. That should tell you the league considers him guilty of something, just not as bad as originally thought.
I don't really care what the circumstances were, as long as he is in compliance and continues to do his job. Glad to have you back Mo !!! DD
